More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of

knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice.Yes, and I will rejoice,

Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be

content in whatever circumstances I am.

Forgetting

Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear:

Forget your people and your father’s house;

But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Therefore from now on we recognize no one

according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer.

Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to

maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

And reaching

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;

but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
