¹ How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers!

¹ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

¹ How blessed is the man who ^(A)does not walk in the ^(B)counsel of the wicked,Nor stand in the ^(a)^(C)path of sinners,Nor ^(D)sit in the seat of scoffers!

¹ How blessed is the person, who does not take the advice of the wicked, who does not stand on the path with sinners, and who does not sit in the seat of mockers.

² But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

² Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction,and he meditates on it day and night.^(B)

³ He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

³ He will be like ^(I)a tree firmly planted by ^(b)streams of water,Which yields its fruit in its seasonAnd its ^(c)leaf does not wither;And ^(d)in whatever he does, ^(J)he prospers.

³ He is like a tree planted beside streams of water^(d)that bears its fruit in season^(e)^(C)and whose leaf does not wither.^(D)Whatever he does prospers.^(E)

³ He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither. He will prosper in everything he does.

⁴ Not so with the wicked! Instead they are like wind-driven chaff.

⁴ The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

⁴ But this is not the case with the wicked. They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

⁵ For this reason the wicked cannot withstand judgment, nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly.

⁵ Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

⁵ Therefore ^(L)the wicked will not stand in the ^(M)judgment,Nor sinners in ^(N)the assembly of the righteous.

⁵ Therefore the wicked will not survive^(f) the judgment,^(G)and sinners will not be in the community of the righteous.

⁵ Therefore the wicked will not escape judgment, nor will sinners have a place in the assembly of the righteous.
