Psalm 124

¹ If it had not been, Yahweh, who was on our side, oh might Israel say:

¹ {A Song of degrees of David.} If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

¹ A Song of Ascents, of David.“^(A)Had it not been the Lord who was on our side,”^(B)Let Israel now say,

¹ A Davidic song of ascents.If the Lord had not been on our side—let Israel say—

¹ If the LORD had not been on our side let Israel now say

³ Then, the waters, had whelmed us, the torrent, gone over our soul;

³ Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

³ Then they would have ^(C)swallowed us alive,When their ^(D)anger was kindled against us;

³ then they would have swallowed us alivein their burning anger against us.^(C)

³ then they would have devoured us alive, when their anger burned against us.

⁵ Blessed, be Yahweh, who gave us not as prey to their teeth.

⁵ Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

⁵ Then the ^(F)raging waters would have ^(b)swept over our soul.”

⁵ the raging waters would have swept over us.^(D)

⁵ the swollen waters would have swept us away.

⁷ Our help, is in the Name of Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.

⁷ Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

⁷ Our soul has ^(H)escaped ^(I)as a bird out of the ^(J)snare of the trapper;The snare is broken and we have escaped.

⁷ We have escaped like a bird from the hunter’s net;the net is torn, and we have escaped.^(F)

⁷ We have escaped like a bird from the hunter's trap. The trap has been broken, and we have escaped.
