1 Chanting to David. O Jahovah, hear my prayer, give ear to my supplication: in thy faithfulness answer me; in thy justice.

1 {A Psalm of David.} Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.

1 A Davidic psalm.Lord, hear my prayer.In Your faithfulness listen to my plea,and in Your righteousness answer me.(A)

1 LORD, hear my prayer; pay attention to my request, because you are faithful; answer me in your righteousness.

2 And thou wilt not come into judgment with thy servant, for all living shall not be justified before thee.

2 And (D)do not enter into judgment with Your servant,For in Your sight (E)no man living is righteous.

2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

2 Do not bring Your servant into judgment,(B)for no one alive is righteous in Your sight.(C)

2 Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no living person is righteous in your sight.

3 For the enemy pursued my soul; he crushed to the earth my life; he caused me to dwell in darknesses, as the dead of old.

3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul;He has crushed my life (F)to the ground;He (G)has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.

3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.

3 For the enemy has pursued me,crushing me to the ground,making me live in darknesslike those long dead.(D)

3 For those who oppose me are pursuing my life, crushing me to the ground, making me sit in darkness like those who died long ago.

4 And my spirit will languish upon me, and my heart will be desolate within me.

4 Therefore (H)my spirit (a)is overwhelmed within me;My heart is (b)(I)appalled within me.

4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

4 My spirit is weak within me;my heart is overcome with dismay.(E)

4 As a result, my spirit is desolate within me, and my mind within me is appalled.

5 I remembered the days of old and I meditated in all thy work, and I will meditate upon the work of thy hands.

5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

5 I remember the former times, meditating on everything you have done. I think about the work of your hands.

6 I spread out my hands to thee: my soul as a weary land for thee. Silence.

6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

7 Quickly answer me, O Jehovah: my spirit failed: thou wilt not hide thy face from me: I was made like those going down to the pit.

7 Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

7 Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit is failing. Do not hide your face from me; otherwise, I will become like those who descend to the Pit,

8 Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for in thee I trusted: cause me to know the way that I shall go; for to thee I lifted up my soul.

8 Let me hear Your (S)lovingkindness (T)in the morning;For I trust (U)in You;Teach me the (V)way in which I should walk;For to You I (W)lift up my soul.

8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

8 Let me experienceYour faithful love in the morning,for I trust in You.(J)Reveal to me the way I should gobecause I long for You.(K)

8 In the morning let me hear of your gracious love, for in you I trust. Cause me to know the way I should take, because I have set my hope on you.

9 Deliver me from mine enemies, O Jehovah: to thee I covered myself.

9 (X)Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies;(e)I take refuge in You.

9 Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.

9 Rescue me from my enemies, Lord;I come to You for protection.(a)(L)

9 Deliver me from my enemies, LORD. I have taken refuge in you.

10 Teach me to do thine acceptance, for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; thou wilt guide me into a land of uprightness.

10 (Y)Teach me to do Your will,For You are my God;Let (Z)Your good Spirit (AA)lead me on level (f)ground.

10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

11 For sake of thy name, O Jehovah, thou wilt make me live: in thy justice thou wilt bring forth my soul out of straits.

11 (AB)For the sake of Your name, O Lord, (AC)revive me.(AD)In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.

11 Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.

11 Because of Your name, Yahweh,let me live.In Your righteousness deliver me from trouble,(O)

11 For the sake of your name, LORD, preserve my life. Because you are righteous, bring me out of trouble.

12 And in thy mercy thou wilt cut off mine enemies, and thou destroyedst all those pressing my soul: for I am thy servant

12 And in Your lovingkindness, (g)(AE)cut off my enemiesAnd (AF)destroy all those who afflict my soul,For (AG)I am Your servant.

12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

12 and in Your faithful love destroy my enemies.Wipe out all those who attack me,for I am Your servant.(P)
