Joy In The Morning

1 I will extol thee, O Yahweh, for thou hast drawn me up, - and not suffered my foes to rejoice over me.

1 {A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David.} I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

1 A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.I will (A)extol You, O Lord, for You have (B)lifted me up,And have not let my (C)enemies rejoice over me.

1 A psalm; a dedication song for the house. Davidic.I will exalt You, Lord, because You have lifted me up(A)and have not allowed my enemiesto triumph over me.(B)

1 I exalt you, LORD, for you have lifted me up, and my enemies could not gloat over me.

2 O Yahweh! thou hast lifted, out of hades, my soul, Thou hast brought me back to life, from among those who were going down to the pit.

2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

2 O Lord my God,I (D)cried to You for help, and You (E)healed me.

2 Lord my God,I cried to You for help, and You healed me.(C)

2 LORD, my God! I cried out to you for help and you healed me.

3 Sweep the strings to Yahweh, ye his men of lovingkindness, and give ye praise at the mention of his holiness.

3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

3 O Lord, You have (F)brought up my soul from (a)Sheol; You have kept me alive, (b)that I would not (G)go down to the pit.

3 Lord, You brought me up from Sheol;(D)You spared me from among thosegoing down(a) to the Pit.(E)

3 LORD, you brought me from death; you kept me alive so that I did not descend into the Pit.

4 For there is, a Moment, in his anger, a Life-time, in his good-pleasure, In the evening, cometh Weeping to lodge, But, by the morning, -- tis a Shout of Triumph!

4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

4 (H)Sing praise to the Lord, you (I)His godly ones,And (J)give thanks to His holy (c)(K)name.

4 Sing to Yahweh, you His faithful ones, and praise His holy name.(F)

4 You, his godly ones, sing to the LORD, give thanks at the mention of his holiness.

5 But, I, said, in my tranquility, I shall not be shaken to times age-abiding!

5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

5 For (L)His anger is but for a moment,His (M)favor is for a lifetime;Weeping may (N)last for the night,But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

5 For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor, a lifetime.Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning.(G)

5 For his wrath is only momentary; yet his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may lodge for the night, but shouts of joy will come in the morning.

6 O Yahweh, in thy good-pleasure, hadst thou caused my mountain to stand, strong, - Thou didst hide thy face - I was dismayed!

6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,“I will (O)never be moved.”

6 When I was secure, I said,“I will never be shaken.”(H)

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, "I will never be moved."

7 Unto thee, O Yahweh, do I cry, - and, unto My Lord, do I make supplication:

7 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

7 O Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You (P)hid Your face, I was dismayed.

7 Lord, when You showed Your favor,You made me stand like a strong mountain;(I)when You hid Your face, I was terrified.(J)

7 By your favor, LORD, you established me as a strong mountain; Then you hid your face, and I was dismayed.

8 What profit in my blood? in my going down into the pit? Can dust praise thee? Can it declare thy faithfulness?

8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.

8 To You, O Lord, I called,And to the Lord I made supplication:

8 Lord, I called to You;I sought favor from my Lord:(K)

8 I cried out to you, LORD, and I make supplication to the Lord:

9 Hear, O Yahweh, and show me favour, O Yahweh! become thou a helper unto me.

9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

9 “What profit is there in my blood, if I (Q)go down to the pit? Will the (R)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

9 “What gain is there in my death,if I go down to the Pit?Will the dust praise You?Will it proclaim Your truth?(L)

9 "What profit is there in my death if I go down to the Pit? Can dust worship you? Can it proclaim your faithfulness?"

10 Thou hast turned my lamentation, into a dance for me, - Thou hast torn off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness:

10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.

10 (S)Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me;O Lord, be my (T)helper.”

10 Lord, listen and be gracious to me;Lord, be my helper.”(M)

10 Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me! LORD, help me!

11 To the end that mine honour should make melody unto thee, and not be silent. O Yahweh, my God! Unto times age-abiding, will I praise thee.

11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

11 You have turned for me (U)my mourning into dancing; You have (V)loosed my sackcloth and girded me with (W)gladness,

11 You turned my lament into dancing; You removed my sackclothand clothed me with gladness,(N)

11 You have turned my mourning into dancing; you took off my sackcloth and clothed me with a garment of joy,
