Psalm 30

¹ A Psalm. -- A song of the dedication of the house of David. I exalt Thee, O Jehovah, For Thou hast drawn me up, and hast not let mine enemies rejoice over me.

¹ {A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David.} I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

¹ I exalt you, LORD, for you have lifted me up, and my enemies could not gloat over me.

³ Jehovah, Thou hast brought up from Sheol my soul, Thou hast kept me alive, From going down to the pit.

³ O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

³ O Lord, You have ^(F)brought up my soul from ^(a)Sheol;You have kept me alive, ^(b)that I would not ^(G)go down to the pit.

³ Lord, You brought me up from Sheol;^(D)You spared me from among thosegoing down^(a) to the Pit.^(E)

³ LORD, you brought me from death; you kept me alive so that I did not descend into the Pit.

⁵ For -- a moment is in His anger, Life is in His good-will, At even remaineth weeping, and at morn singing.

⁵ For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

⁵ For ^(L)His anger is but for a moment,His ^(M)favor is for a lifetime;Weeping may ^(N)last for the night,But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

⁵ For His anger lasts only a moment,but His favor, a lifetime.Weeping may spend the night,but there is joy in the morning.^(G)

⁵ For his wrath is only momentary; yet his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may lodge for the night, but shouts of joy will come in the morning.

⁷ O Jehovah, in Thy good pleasure, Thou hast caused strength to remain for my mountain,' Thou hast hidden Thy face -- I have been troubled.

⁷ LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

⁷ O Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;You ^(P)hid Your face, I was dismayed.

⁷ Lord, when You showed Your favor,You made me stand like a strong mountain;^(I)when You hid Your face, I was terrified.^(J)

⁷ By your favor, LORD, you established me as a strong mountain; Then you hid your face, and I was dismayed.

⁹ What gain is in my blood? In my going down unto corruption? Doth dust thank Thee? doth it declare Thy truth?

⁹ What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

⁹ “What profit is there in my blood, if I ^(Q)go down to the pit?Will the ^(R)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

⁹ “What gain is there in my death,if I go down to the Pit?Will the dust praise You?Will it proclaim Your truth?^(L)

⁹ "What profit is there in my death if I go down to the Pit? Can dust worship you? Can it proclaim your faithfulness?"

¹¹ Thou hast turned my mourning to dancing for me, Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, And girdest me with joy.

¹¹ Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

¹¹ You have turned for me ^(U)my mourning into dancing;You have ^(V)loosed my sackcloth and girded me with ^(W)gladness,

¹¹ You turned my lament into dancing;You removed my sackclothand clothed me with gladness,^(N)

¹¹ You have turned my mourning into dancing; you took off my sackcloth and clothed me with a garment of joy,
