Psalm 50

¹ El, Elohim, Yahweh, hath spoken, and culled the earth, From the rising of the sun, unto the going in thereof:

¹ {A Psalm of Asaph.} The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

¹ A Psalm of ^(a)Asaph.^(A)The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken,And summoned the earth ^(B)from the rising of the sun to its setting.

¹ A psalm of Asaph.^(A)Yahweh, the God of gods^(a) speaks;He summons the earth from east to west.^(b)(B)

¹ God, the LORD, has spoken. He has summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting place.

³ He calleth, Unto the heavens above, And unto the earth, That he may judge his people.

³ Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

³ May our God ^(E)come and not keep silence;^(F)Fire devours before Him,And it is very ^(G)tempestuous around Him.

³ Our God is coming; He will not be silent!Devouring fire precedes Him,and a storm rages around Him.^(D)

³ Our God has appeared and he has not been silent; a devouring fire blazed before him, and a mighty storm swirled around him.

⁵ Now have the heavens declared his righteousness, Because, God, is, about to judge. Selah.

⁵ Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

⁵ “Gather My ^(I)godly ones to Me,Those who have made a ^(J)covenant with Me by ^(K)sacrifice.”

⁵ “Gather My faithful ones to Me,those who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”^(F)

⁵ "Assemble before me, my saints, who have entered into my covenant by sacrifice."

⁷ Not, for thy sacrifices, will I reprove thee, Nor for thine ascending-offerings, before me continually:

⁷ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

⁷ “^(N)Hear, O My people, and I will speak;O Israel, I will testify ^(c)against you;I am God, ^(O)your God.

⁷ “Listen, My people, and I will speak;I will testify against you, Israel.I am God, your God.^(I)

⁷ "Listen, my people, for I am making a pronouncement: Israel, I, God, your God, am testifying against you.

⁹ For, mine, is every wild-beast of the forest, The cattle on the mountains, in their thousands;

⁹ I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

⁹ “I shall take no ^(Q)young bull out of your houseNor male goats out of your folds.

⁹ I will not accept a bull from your householdor male goats from your pens,^(K)

⁹ I will no longer accept a sacrificial bull from your household; nor goats from your pens.

¹¹ If I were hungry, I would not tell thee, For, mine, is the world, and the fulness thereof.

¹¹ I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

¹¹ “I know every ^(S)bird of the mountains,And everything that moves in the field is ^(d)Mine.

¹¹ I know every bird of the mountains,^(d)and the creatures of the field are Mine.^(L)

¹¹ I know all the birds in the mountains; indeed, everything that moves in the field is mine.

¹³ Sacrifice to God a thankoffering, And pay to the Most High thy vows;

¹³ Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

¹³ “Shall I eat the flesh of ^(f)(U)bullsOr drink the blood of male goats?

¹³ Do I eat the flesh of bullsor drink the blood of goats?^(N)

¹³ Why should I eat the flesh of oxen or drink the blood of goats?

¹⁵ But, to the lawless one, God saith, What hast, thou, to do, to recount my statutes? Or that thou hast taken up my covenant upon thy mouth?

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

^{15 (X)}Call upon Me in the day of trouble;I shall ^(Y)rescue you, and you will ^(Z)honor Me.”

¹⁵ Call on Me in a day of trouble;I will rescue you, and you will honor Me.”^(Q)

¹⁵ Call on me in the day of distress; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me."

¹⁷ If thou sawest a thief, then didst thou run with him, - And, with adulterers, hath been thy chosen life;

¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

¹⁷ “For you ^(AB)hate discipline,And you ^(AC)cast My words behind you.

¹⁷ You hate instructionand turn your back on My words.^(e)(S)

¹⁷ You hate instruction and toss my words behind you.

¹⁹ Thou wouldst sit down - Against thine own brother, wouldst thou speak, Against thine own mother's son, wouldst thou expose a fault: -

¹⁹ Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

¹⁹ “You ^(i)(AF)let your mouth loose in evilAnd your ^(AG)tongue frames deceit.

¹⁹ You unleash your mouth for eviland harness your tongue for deceit.^(U)

¹⁹ You give your mouth free reign for evil, and your tongue devises deceit.

²¹ Understand this, I pray you, ye forgetters of GOD, Lest I tear in pieces, and there be none to deliver: -

²¹ These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

²¹ “These things you have done and ^(AI)I kept silence;You thought that I was just like you;I will ^(AJ)reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes.

²¹ You have done these things, and I kept silent;you thought I was just like you.^(W)But I will rebuke youand lay out the case before you.^(f)(X)

²¹ These things you did, and I kept silent, because you assumed that I was like you. But now I am going to rebuke you, and I will set forth my case before your very own eyes."
