God As Judge
1 El, Elohim, Yahweh, hath spoken, and culled the earth, From the rising of the sun, unto the going in thereof:
1 {A Psalm of Asaph.} The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
1 A Psalm of (a)Asaph.(A)The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken,And summoned the earth (B)from the rising of the sun to its setting.
1 A psalm of Asaph.(A)Yahweh, the God of gods(a) speaks; He summons the earth from east to west.(b)(B)
1 God, the LORD, has spoken. He has summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting place.
3 He calleth, Unto the heavens above, And unto the earth, That he may judge his people.
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
3 May our God (E)come and not keep silence;(F)Fire devours before Him,And it is very (G)tempestuous around Him.
3 Our God is coming; He will not be silent!Devouring fire precedes Him,and a storm rages around Him.(D)
3 Our God has appeared and he has not been silent; a devouring fire blazed before him, and a mighty storm swirled around him.
7 Not, for thy sacrifices, will I reprove thee, Nor for thine ascending-offerings, before me continually:
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
7 “(N)Hear, O My people, and I will speak;O Israel, I will testify (c)against you;I am God, (O)your God.
7 "Listen, my people, for I am making a pronouncement: Israel, I, God, your God, am testifying against you.
8 I will not take out of thy house - a bullock, Nor out of thy folds - he-goats;
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
8 I do not rebuke you for your sacrificesor for your burnt offerings, which are continually before Me.(J)
8 I do not rebuke you because of your sacrifices; indeed, your burnt offerings are continuously before me.
10 I know every bird of the mountains, And, the moving things of the plain, are with me:
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
10 for every animal of the forest is Mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.
10 Indeed, every animal of the forest is mine, even the cattle on a thousand hills.
15 But, to the lawless one, God saith, What hast, thou, to do, to recount my statutes? Or that thou hast taken up my covenant upon thy mouth?
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
15 Call on me in the day of distress; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me."
16 Seeing that, thou, hast hated correction, And hast cast my words behind thee;
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
16 But to the wicked God says,“What right have you to tell of My statutesAnd to take (AA)My covenant in your mouth?
16 But God says to the wicked:“What right do you have to recite My statutesand to take My covenant on your lips?(R)
16 As for the wicked, God says, "How dare you recite my statutes or speak about my covenant with your lips!
20 These things, hast thou done, and I have kept silence, Thou thoughtest that I should really be like thyself, I will convict thee, yea I will set thine offences in order before thine eyes.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.
20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
21 Understand this, I pray you, ye forgetters of GOD, Lest I tear in pieces, and there be none to deliver: -
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
21 “These things you have done and (AI)I kept silence; You thought that I was just like you;I will (AJ)reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes.
21 You have done these things, and I kept silent;you thought I was just like you.(W)But I will rebuke youand lay out the case before you.(f)(X)
21 These things you did, and I kept silent, because you assumed that I was like you. But now I am going to rebuke you, and I will set forth my case before your very own eyes."
22 He that sacrificeth a thankoffering, will glorify me, - And will prepare a way by which I may show him the salvation of God.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
22 “Now consider this, you who (AK)forget God,Or I will (AL)tear you in pieces, and there will be none to deliver.
22 “Understand this, you who forget God,or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to rescue you.(Y)
22 Consider this, you who have forgotten God Otherwise, I will tear you in pieces and there will be no deliverer:
