1 {To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David: a Song.} Praise waiteth for thee in silence, O God, in Zion; and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

1 For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. A song.Praise is rightfully Yours,(a)God, in Zion;vows to You will be fulfilled.(A)

1 In Zion, God, praise silently awaits you, and vows will be paid to you.

2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

2 O You who hear prayer,To You (B)all (b)men come.

2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

2 All humanity will come to You,the One who hears prayer.(B)

2 Since you hear prayer, everybody will come to you.

3 Iniquities have prevailed against me: our transgressions, thou wilt forgive them.

3 (c)(C)Iniquities prevail against me;As for our transgressions, You (d)(D)forgive them.

3 Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

3 Iniquities overwhelm me;only You can atone for(b) our rebellions.(C)

3 My acts of iniquity they overwhelm me! Our transgressions you blot them out!

4 Blessed is he whom thou choosest and causest to approach: he shall dwell in thy courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, of thy holy temple.

4 How (E)blessed is the one whom You (F)choose and bring near to YouTo dwell in Your courts.We will be (G)satisfied with the goodness of Your house,Your holy temple.

4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

4 How happy is the one You chooseand bring near to live in Your courts!We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,the holiness of Your temple.(c)(D)

4 How blessed is the one you choose, the one you cause to live in your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house, yes, even with the holiness of your Temple.

5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation, thou confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of the distant regions of the sea. ...

5 By (H)awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O (I)God of our salvation,You who are the trust of all the (J)ends of the earth and of the farthest (e)(K)sea;

5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

5 You answer us in righteousness,with awe-inspiring works,God of our salvation,the hope of all the ends of the earthand of the distant seas.(E)

5 With awesome deeds of justice you will answer us, God our Deliverer; you are the confidence for everyone at the ends of the earth, even for those far away overseas.

6 Who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with power;

6 Who (L)establishes the mountains by His strength,Being (M)girded with might;

6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

6 You establish the mountains by Your(d) power,robed with strength.(F)

6 The One who established the mountains by his strength is clothed with omnipotence.

7 Who stilleth the raging of the seas, the raging of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.

7 Who (N)stills the roaring of the seas,The roaring of their waves,And the (O)tumult of the peoples.

7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

7 You silence the roar of the seas,the roar of their waves,and the tumult of the nations.(G)

7 He calmed the roar of seas, the roaring of the waves, and the turmoil of the nations.

8 And they that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens; thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

8 They who dwell in the (P)ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs;You make the (f)dawn and the sunset shout for joy.

8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

8 Those who live far away are awed by Your signs;You make east and west shout for joy.(H)

8 Those living at the furthest ends of the earth are seized by fear because of your miraculous deeds. You make the going forth of the morning and the evening shout for joy.

9 Thou hast visited the earth, thou hast watered it; thou greatly enrichest it: the river of God is full of water; thou providest their corn, when thou hast so prepared it:

9 You visit the earth and (Q)cause it to overflow;You greatly (R)enrich it;The (g)(S)stream of God is full of water;You prepare their (T)grain, for thus You prepare (h)the earth.

9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

9 You visit the earth and water it abundantly,enriching it greatly.God’s stream is filled with water,for You prepare the earth(e) in this way,providing people with grain.(I)

9 You take care of the earth, you water it, and you enrich it greatly with the river of God that overflows with water. You provide grain for them, for you have ordained it this way.

10 Thou dost satiate its furrows, thou smoothest its clods, thou makest it soft with showers; thou blessest the springing thereof.

10 You water its furrows abundantly,You (i)settle its ridges,You soften it (U)with showers,You bless its growth.

10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

10 You soften it with showers and bless its growth,soaking its furrows and leveling its ridges.(J)

10 You fill the furrows of the field with water so that their ridges overflow. You soften them with rain showers; their sprouts you have blessed.

11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness, and thy paths drop fatness:

11 You have crowned the year (j)with Your (k)(V)bounty,And Your (l)paths (W)drip with fatness.

11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness, and the hills are girded with gladness.

12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

12 The wilderness pastures overflow,and the hills are robed with joy.(L)

12 The wilderness pastures drip with dew, and the hills wrap themselves with joy.

13 The meadows are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, yea, they sing.

13 The meadows are (Z)clothed with flocksAnd the valleys are (AA)covered with grain;They (AB)shout for joy, yes, they sing.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
