A Prayer For The King
1 For Solomon. O God, grant the king the ability to make just decisions! Grant the king's son the ability to make fair decisions!
1 {A Psalm for Solomon.} Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.

1 God, endow the king with ability to render your justice, and the king's son to render your right decisions.
4 He will defend the oppressed among the people; he will deliver the children of the poor and crush the oppressor.
4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
4 (f)May he (F)vindicate the (g)afflicted of the people,Save the children of the needyAnd crush the oppressor.
4 May he defend the afflicted of the people and deliver the children of the poor, but crush the oppressor.
5 People will fear you as long as the sun and moon remain in the sky, for generation after generation.
5 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

10 The kings of Tarshish and the coastlands will offer gifts; the kings of Sheba and Seba will bring tribute.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

12 For he will rescue the needy when they cry out for help, and the oppressed who have no defender.

16 May there be an abundance of grain in the earth; on the tops of the mountains may it sway! May its fruit trees flourish like the forests of Lebanon! May its crops be as abundant as the grass of the earth!
16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
16 May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains;Its fruit will wave like the cedars of (AB)Lebanon;And may those from the city flourish like (AC)vegetation of the earth.
16 May there be plenty of grain in the land;may it wave on the tops of the mountains.May its crops be like Lebanon.May people flourish in the citieslike the grass of the field.(Q)
16 May grain be abundant in the land all the way to the mountain tops; may its fruits flourish like the forests of Lebanon, and may the cities sprout like the grass of the earth.
17 May his fame endure! May his dynasty last as long as the sun remains in the sky! May they use his name when they formulate their blessings! May all nations consider him to be favored by God!
17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

19 His glorious name deserves praise forevermore! May his majestic splendor fill the whole earth! We agree! We agree!
