God, The Powerful Judge

1 In Judah is the knowledge of God; his name is great in Israel,

2 In Salem is his tent, his resting-place in Zion.

4 You are shining and full of glory, more than the eternal mountains.

5 Gone is the wealth of the strong, their last sleep has overcome them; the men of war have become feeble.

6 At the voice of your wrath, O God of Jacob, deep sleep has overcome carriage and horse.

6 At Your (H)rebuke, O God of Jacob,Both (h)(I)rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

6 At Your rebuke, God of Jacob,both chariot and horse lay still.(G)

6 At the sound of your battle cry, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot rider fell into deep sleep.

7 You, you are to be feared; who may keep his place before you in the time of your wrath?

7 You, even You, are (J)to be feared;And (K)who may stand in Your presence when once (i)You are angry?

7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

7 And You—You are to be feared.(b)When You are angry,who can stand before You?(H)

7 You are awesome! who can stand in your presence when you're angry?

8 From heaven you gave your decision; the earth, in its fear, gave no sound,

8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;The earth (L)feared and was still

8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

8 From heaven You pronounced judgment.The earth feared and grew quiet(I)

8 From heaven you declared judgment. The earth stands in awe and is quiet

9 When God took his place as judge, for the salvation of the poor on the earth. (Selah.)

9 When God (M)arose to judgment,To save all the humble of the earth. Selah.

9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

9 when God rose up to judgeand to save all the lowly of the earth.(J)Selah

10 For the (j)(N)wrath of man shall praise You;With a remnant of wrath You will gird Yourself.

10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

10 Even human anger praises you; you will wear the survivors of your wrath as an ornament.

11 Give to the Lord your God what is his by right; let all who are round him give offerings to him who is to be feared.

11 (O)Make vows to the Lord your God and (P)fulfill them;Let all who are around Him (Q)bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.

11 Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

11 Make and keep your vowsto the Lord your God;(L)let all who are around Him bring tributeto the awe-inspiring One.(d)(M)

11 Let everyone who surrounds the LORD your God make a vow and fulfill it to the Awesome One.

12 He puts an end to the wrath of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.

12 He will cut off the spirit of princes;He is (k)(R)feared by the kings of the earth.

12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

12 He humbles the spirit of leaders;He is feared by the kings of the earth.(N)

12 He will humble the arrogant commanders-in-chief, instilling fear among the kings of the earth. To the director: To Jeduthun. A psalm of Asaph.
