Psalm 89:20

Perplexity About God's Promises

¹⁹ Formerly you spoke in a vision to your faithful ones, and said, "I have bestowed help on a mighty man; I have exalted one chosen from [the] people. ²⁰ I have found David, my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him, ²¹ with whom my hand will be steadfast. Surely my arm will strengthen him.

Then Yahweh said to Samuel, "{How long} will you mourn about Saul? I have rejected him from being king over Israel! Fill up your horn [with] oil and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have chosen a king for myself among his sons."
