Paul Wants To Visit Rome

8 First I thank my God, through Jesus Christ, for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout all the world.

8 First, (P)I thank my God through Jesus Christ (g)for you all, because (Q)your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world.

8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you because the news of your faith(g) is being reported in all the world.(Q)

8 First of all, I thank my God through Jesus the Messiah for all of you, because the news about your faith is being reported throughout the world.

9 God is my witness, to whom I render holy service in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how unceasingly I am ever making mention of you in my prayers,

9 For (R)God, whom I (S)serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly (T)I make mention of you,

9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

9 For God, whom I serve with my spirit(R) in telling the good news about His Son, is my witness(S) that I constantly mention you,(T)

9 For God, whom I serve with my spirit by preaching the gospel about his Son, is my witness how constantly I mention you

10 always entreating him that now at length, if such be his will, the way may be made clear for me to come to you.

10 always in my prayers making request, if perhaps now at last by (U)the will of God I may succeed in coming to you.

10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

10 always asking in my prayers that if it is somehow in God’s will, I may now at last succeed in coming to you.(U)

10 in my prayers at all times, asking that somehow by God's will I may at last succeed in coming to you.

11 For I am longing so to see you, in order to impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established;

11 For (V)I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be (h)established;

11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

11 For I want very much to see you,(V) so I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

11 For I am longing to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong,

12 that is, that I with you may be encouraged by you, each of us by the other's faith, yours and mine.

12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

12 that is, to be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.

12 that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.

13 I want you to know, brothers, that many a time I have planned to come to you??hough until now I have been hindered??o as to have some harvest-fruit among you also, even as I have among the rest of the Gentiles.

13 (W)I do not want you to be unaware, (X)brethren, that often I (Y)have planned to come to you (and have been prevented so far) so that I may obtain some (Z)fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles.

13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

13 Now I want you to know,(h)(W) brothers, that I often planned to come to you (but was prevented until now(X)) in order that I might have a fruitful ministry(i) among you,(Y) just as among the rest of the Gentiles.

13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I often planned to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now), so that I might reap a harvest among you, just as I have among the rest of the gentiles.

Preaching In Galilee And The Call Of The Disciples

14 To Greeks and to barbarians, to the cultured and to the uncultured, I have a debt to discharge.

14 (AA)I am (i)under obligation both to Greeks and to (AB)barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish.

14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

14 I am obligated both to Greeks and barbarians,(j)(Z) both to the wise and the foolish.

14 Both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to foolish people, I am a debtor.

15 So much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.

15 So, for my part, I am eager to (AC)preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.

15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

15 So I am eager to preach the good news(AA) to you also who are in Rome.

15 That is why I am so eager to proclaim the gospel to you who live in Rome, too.

The Gospel's Power For Salvation

16 FOR I AM PROUD OF THE GOSPEL. IT IS GOD'S SAVING POWER FOR EVERY ONE WHO BELIEVES. FOR THE JEW FIRST, AND ALSO FOR THE GENTILE.

16 For I am not (AD)ashamed of the gospel, for (AE)it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the (AF)Jew first and also to (AG)the Greek.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel,(k)(AB) because it is God’s power for salvation(AC) to everyone who believes, first to the Jew,(AD) and also to the Greek.(AE)

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God's power for the salvation of everyone who believes, of the Jew first and of the Greek as well.

17 FOR IN IT IS BEING REVEALED A RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH PROCEEDS FROM GOD, FROM FAITH UNTO FAITH; AS IT IS WRITTEN.

17 For in it (AH)the righteousness of God is revealed (j)from faith to faith; as it is written, “(k)(AI)But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

17 For in it God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith,(l)(AF) just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.(m)(AG)(n)

17 For in the gospel God's righteousness is being revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, "The righteous will live by faith."

God's Wrath Revealed Against Sinful Humanity

18 For God's wrath is ever being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who smother the truth by their unrighteousness.

18 For (AJ)the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who (AK)suppress the truth (l)in unrighteousness,

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

18 For God’s wrath(AH) is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth,(AI)

18 For God's wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of those who in their wickedness suppress the truth.

19 This is so because that which may be known of God is manifest among them; for God has made it manifest to them.

19 because (AL)that which is known about God is evident (m)within them; for God made it evident to them.

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

19 since what can be known(o) about God is evident among them,(AJ) because God has shown it to them.

19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God himself has made it plain to them.

20 For ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, even his everlasting power and divinity, has been clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made. So they have no excuse.

20 For (AM)since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, (AN)being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

20 For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world,(AK) being understood through what He has made.(AL) As a result, people are without excuse.

20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible attributes his eternal power and divine nature have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse.

Jesus' Authority

21 For although they knew God, yet they did not glorify him as God, nor give him thanks; but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened.

21 For even though they knew God, they did not (n)honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became (AO)futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

21 For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened.(AM)

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. Instead, their thoughts turned to worthless things, and their senseless hearts were darkened.

22 While they professed to be wise, they became fools,

22 (AP)Professing to be wise, they became fools,

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools(AN)

22 Though claiming to be wise, they became fools

23 and exchanged the majesty of the imperishable God for an idol, graven in the likeness of perishable man, or of birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things.

23 and (AQ)exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and (o)crawling creatures.

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.(AO)

23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images that looked like mortal human beings, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.

24 So God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their own bodies;

24 Therefore (AR)God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be (AS)dishonored among them.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

24 Therefore God delivered them over in the cravings of their hearts(AP) to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves.

24 For this reason, God delivered them to sexual impurity as they followed the lusts of their hearts and dishonored their bodies with one another.

25 because they exchanged the truth of God for an untruth, and worshiped and served the creature, rather than the Creator who is blessed forever. Amen.

25 For they exchanged the truth of God for (p)a (AT)lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, (AU)who is blessed (q)forever. Amen.

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie,(AQ) and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever.(AR) Amen.

25 They exchanged God's truth for a lie and worshipped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

God Hands Sinful Humanity Over To Depravity

26 That is why God has given them up to passions of dishonor; for on the one hand their women actually changed the natural function of sex into that which is against nature;

26 For this reason (AV)God gave them over to (AW)degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is (r)unnatural,

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

26 This is why God delivered them over to degrading passions.(AS) For even their females exchanged natural sexual relations(p) for unnatural ones.

26 For this reason, God delivered them to degrading passions as their females exchanged their natural sexual function for one that is unnatural.

27 and on the other hand their men likewise abandoned the natural use of women, and were ablaze with passion for one another; men with men practising shameless acts and receiving in their own person that recompense of their wrong-doing which necessarily followed.

27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, (AX)men with men committing (s)indecent acts and receiving in (t)their own persons the due penalty of their error.

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

27 The males in the same way also left natural relations(q) with females and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Males committed shameless acts with males(AT) and received in their own persons(r) the appropriate penalty of their error.

27 In the same way, their males also abandoned their natural sexual function toward females and burned with lust toward one another. Males committed indecent acts with males, and received within themselves the appropriate penalty for their perversion.

28 And just as they refused to continue to retain God in their knowledge, so did God cast them out to an outcast mind, to do those things which were indecent.

28 And just as they did not see fit (u)to acknowledge God any longer, (AY)God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

28 And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.

28 Furthermore, because they did not think it worthwhile to keep knowing God fully, God delivered them to degraded minds to perform acts that should not be done.

Healings At Simon's House

29 They were overflowing with every kind of iniquity, depravity, greed, and malice. They were full of envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and malignity.

29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are (AZ)gossips,

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

29 They are filled with all unrighteousness,(s) evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,(AU)

29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and viciousness. They are gossips,

30 They became whisperers, back-biters, hated of God, insolent, haughty, boastful. They invented sins. They were disobedient to parents.

30 slanderers, (v)(BA)haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, (BB)disobedient to parents,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

30 slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful,(AV) inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,(AW)

30 slanderers, God-haters, haughty, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to their parents,

31 They were without sense, without faith, without natural affection, without mercy.

31 without understanding, untrustworthy, (BC)unloving, unmerciful;

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving,(t)(AX) and unmerciful.

31 foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless.

32 Though they knew well the ordinance of God, that those who practise such vices are worthy of death, they not only continue to do the same, but were even applauding those who practise vice.

32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of (BD)death, they not only do the same, but also (BE)give hearty approval to those who practice them.

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

32 Although they know full well God’s just sentence—that those who practice such things deserve to die(u)(AY)—they not only do them, but even applaud(v)(AZ) others who practice them.

32 Although they know God's just requirement that those who practice such things deserve to die they not only do these things but even applaud others who practice them.
