Let not that business which ye have in hand be tedious to you. Be fervent in the spirit. Apply yourselves to the time.

The same was informed in the way of the Lord, and he spake fervently in the spirit, and taught diligently the things of the Lord, and knew but the baptism of John only.

Let him that stole, steal no more; but let him rather labour with his hands some good thing, that he may have to give unto him that needeth.

For God is not unrighteous that he should forget your work and labour that proceedeth of love, which love showed in his name, which have ministered unto the saints, and yet minister.

And he answered, "Idle are ye idle, and therefore ye say, 'Let us go and do sacrifice unto the LORD.'

Go to the Emmet, thou sluggard: consider her ways, and learn to be wise.

As vinegar is to the teeth, and as smoke is to the eyes; even so is a sluggish person to them that sendeth him forth.

The sluggard would fain have, and cannot get his desire; but the soul of the diligent shall have plenty.

Whoso is slothful and slack in his labor, is the brother of him that is a waster.

Seest thou not, that they which be diligent in their business stand before kings, and not among the simple people?

I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyards of the foolish man.

The slothful sayeth, "There is a leopard in the way, and a lion in the midst of the streets."

Whatsoever thou takest in hand to do, that do with all thy power: for among the dead, where thou goest unto, there is neither work, counsel, knowledge nor wisdom.

For his watchmen are all blind, they have altogether no understanding. They are all dumb dogs, no being able to bark; they are sleepery, sluggish, and lie snorting.

And because iniquity shall have the upper hand, the love of many shall abate.

His master answered, and said unto him, 'Thou evil servant and slothful, thou knowest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I strawed not:

serving the Lord with all humbleness of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which happened unto me by the layings wait of the Jews,

Ye know well that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

For he that is called in the Lord being a servant, is the Lord's freeman. Likewise he that is called being free, is Christ's servant.

Servants, be obedient unto your carnal masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your hearts, as unto Christ:

Servants, be obedient unto your bodily masters in all things: not with eye service as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart fearing God.

Ye masters do unto your servants that which is just and equal, seeing ye know that ye have also a master in heaven.

Epaphras the servant of Christ, which is one of you, saluteth you, and always laboureth fervently for you in prayers that ye may stand perfect, and full in all that is the will of God.

and that ye study to be quiet, and to meddle with your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you:

We require you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh inordinately, and not after the institution which ye received of us.

And also they learn to go from house to house idle, yea not idle only, but also trifling and busybodies, speaking things which are not comely.

The servants exhort to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please in all things, not answering again,

Wherefore if we receive a kingdom which is not moved, we have grace, whereby we may serve God and please him with reverence and godly fear.

Knowledge your faults one to another: and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man availeth much, if it be fervent.

And forasmuch as ye have purified your souls through the spirit, in obeying the truth for to love brotherly without feigning, see that ye love one another with a pure heart, fervently:

But above all things, have fervent love among you. For love covereth the multitude of sins.

Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, for thou hast left thy first love.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot. I would thou were cold or hot.
