of the sons

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל

of Israel ､

וְאָמַרְתָּ֥

wə·’ā·mar·tā

and say

､ אֲלֵהֶ֖ם

’ă·lê·hem

to them ､

קְדֹשִׁ֣ים

qə·ḏō·šîm

､ תִּהְי֑וּ

tih·yū;

You shall be ､

כִּ֣י

kî

קָד֔וֹשׁ

qā·ḏō·wōš,

[am] holy

､ אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I ､

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem.

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

Every one of you

､ אִמּ֤וֹ

’im·mōw

､ וְאָבִיו֙

wə·’ā·ḇîw

and his father ､

– תִּירָ֔אוּ

tî·rā·’ū,

shall revere –

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

שַׁבְּתֹתַ֖י

šab·bə·ṯō·ṯay

. תִּשְׁמֹ֑רוּ

tiš·mō·rū;

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

יְהוָ֥ה

. אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

אַל־

’al-

Not

תִּפְנוּ֙

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ הָ֣אֱלִילִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lî·lîm,

וֵֽאלֹהֵי֙

wê·lō·hê

and gods

מַסֵּכָ֔ה

mas·sê·ḵāh,

לֹ֥א

lō

תַעֲשׂ֖וּ

ṯa·‘ă·śū

– לָכֶ֑ם

lā·ḵem;

for yourselves –

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem.

וְכִ֧י

wə·ḵî

And if

תִזְבְּח֛וּ

ṯiz·bə·ḥū

זֶ֥בַח

ze·ḇaḥ

שְׁלָמִ֖ים

šə·lā·mîm

of a peace offering

､ לַיהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

to Yahweh ､

לִֽרְצֹנְכֶ֖ם

lir·ṣō·nə·ḵem

of your own free will

. תִּזְבָּחֻֽהוּ׃

tiz·bā·ḥu·hū.

you shall offer it .

בְּי֧וֹם

bə·yō·wm

זִבְחֲכֶ֛ם

ziḇ·ḥă·ḵem

､ יֵאָכֵ֖ל

yê·’ā·ḵêl

it shall be eaten ､

. וּמִֽמָּחֳרָ֑ת

ū·mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ;

and on the next day .

וְהַנּוֹתָר֙

wə·han·nō·w·ṯār

And if any remains

עַד־

‘aḏ-

י֣וֹם

yō·wm

､ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י

haš·šə·lî·šî,

the third ､

בָּאֵ֖שׁ

bā·’êš

in the fire

. יִשָּׂרֵֽף׃

yiś·śā·rêp̄.

it shall be burned .

וְאִ֛ם

wə·’im

And if

הֵאָכֹ֥ל

hê·’ā·ḵōl

at all

יֵאָכֵ֖ל

yê·’ā·ḵêl

it is eaten

בַּיּ֣וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on the day

､ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י

haš·šə·lî·šî;

פִּגּ֥וּל

pig·gūl

[is] an abomination

– ה֖וּא

hū

it –

לֹ֥א

lō

not

. יֵרָצֶֽה׃

yê·rā·ṣeh.

it shall be accepted .

וְאֹֽכְלָיו֙

wə·’ō·ḵə·lāw

Therefore [everyone] who eats it

עֲוֺנ֣וֹ

‘ă·wō·nōw

､ יִשָּׂ֔א

yiś·śā,

כִּֽי־

kî-

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

קֹ֥דֶשׁ

qō·ḏeš

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

– חִלֵּ֑ל

ḥil·lêl;

he has profaned –

וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה

wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh

and shall be cut off

הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ

han·ne·p̄eš

הַהִ֖וא

ha·hi·w

. מֵעַמֶּֽיהָ׃

mê·‘am·me·hā.

from his people .

Love Your Neighbor

וּֽבְקֻצְרְכֶם֙

ū·ḇə·quṣ·rə·ḵem

And when you reap

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

קְצִ֣יר

qə·ṣîr

､ אַרְצְכֶ֔ם

’ar·ṣə·ḵem,

of your land ､

לֹ֧א

lō

not

תְכַלֶּ֛ה

ṯə·ḵal·leh

you shall wholly reap

פְּאַ֥ת

pə·’aṯ

שָׂדְךָ֖

śā·ḏə·ḵā

､ לִקְצֹ֑ר

liq·ṣōr;

- ､

וְלֶ֥קֶט

wə·le·qeṭ

and the gleanings

קְצִֽירְךָ֖

qə·ṣî·rə·ḵā

of your harvest

לֹ֥א

lō

. תְלַקֵּֽט׃

ṯə·laq·qêṭ.

shall you gather .

､ וְכַרְמְךָ֙

wə·ḵar·mə·ḵā

And your vineyard ､

לֹ֣א

lō

not

תְעוֹלֵ֔ל

ṯə·‘ō·w·lêl,

you shall glean

וּפֶ֥רֶט

ū·p̄e·reṭ

and [every] grape

– כַּרְמְךָ֖

kar·mə·ḵā

of your vineyard –

לֹ֣א

. תְלַקֵּ֑ט

ṯə·laq·qêṭ;

shall you gather .

לֶֽעָנִ֤י

le·‘ā·nî

וְלַגֵּר֙

wə·lag·gêr

and the stranger

תַּעֲזֹ֣ב

ta·‘ă·zōḇ

you shall leave

. אֹתָ֔ם

’ō·ṯām,

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I

יְהוָ֥ה

. אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

､ תִּגְנֹ֑בוּ

You shall steal ､

וְלֹא־

､ תְכַחֲשׁ֥וּ

deal falsely ､

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

תְשַׁקְּר֖וּ

ṯə·šaq·qə·rū

אִ֥ישׁ

. בַּעֲמִיתֽוֹ׃

ba·‘ă·mî·ṯōw.

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

And not

תִשָּׁבְע֥וּ

ṯiš·šā·ḇə·‘ū

you shall swear

בִשְׁמִ֖י

ḇiš·mî

by My name

– לַשָּׁ֑קֶר

laš·šā·qer;

וְחִלַּלְתָּ֛

wə·ḥil·lal·tā

nor shall you profane

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

שֵׁ֥ם

a stumbling block ､

You shall be partial to

poor ､

וְלֹ֥א

תֶהְדַּ֖ר

､ גָד֑וֹל

ḡā·ḏō·wl;

of the mighty ､

בְּצֶ֖דֶק

bə·ṣe·ḏeq

in righteousness

תִּשְׁפֹּ֥ט

tiš·pōṭ

you shall judge

. עֲמִיתֶֽךָ׃

‘ă·mî·ṯe·ḵā.

your neighbor .

You shall go about

רָכִיל֙

[as] a talebearer

､ בְּעַמֶּ֔יךָ

among your people ､

shall you take a stand

עַל־

דַּ֣ם

dam

the life

– רֵעֶ֑ךָ

– בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ

in your heart –

תּוֹכִ֙יחַ֙

You shall rebuke

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ עֲמִיתֶ֔ךָ

‘ă·mî·ṯe·ḵā,

your neighbor ､

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

and not

תִשָּׂ֥א

ṯiś·śā

עָלָ֖יו

‘ā·lāw

. חֵֽטְא׃

ḥêṭ.

לֹֽא־

Not

､ תִקֹּ֤ם

You shall take vengeance ､

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

תִטֹּר֙

ṯiṭ·ṭōr

bear any grudge

אֶת־

’eṯ-

בְּנֵ֣י

the sons

､ עַמֶּ֔ךָ

‘am·me·ḵā,

of your people ､

וְאָֽהַבְתָּ֥

wə·’ā·haḇ·tā

but you shall love

לְרֵעֲךָ֖

lə·rê·‘ă·ḵā

. כָּמ֑וֹךָ

kā·mō·w·ḵā;

אֲנִ֖י

Keep My Decrees

You shall let breed

– כִּלְאַ֔יִם

kil·’a·yim,

with another kind –

שָׂדְךָ֖

– כִּלְאָ֑יִם

kil·’ā·yim;

with mixed seed –

וּבֶ֤גֶד

ū·ḇe·ḡeḏ

כִּלְאַ֙יִם֙

שַֽׁעַטְנֵ֔ז

ša·‘aṭ·nêz,

of linen and wool

יַעֲלֶ֖ה

[is] a concubine ､

לְאִ֔ישׁ

lə·’îš,

to a man

､ וְהָפְדֵּה֙

wə·hā·p̄ə·dêh

and at all ､

לֹ֣א

not

､ נִפְדָּ֔תָה

nip̄·dā·ṯāh,

who has been redeemed ､

א֥וֹ

or

חֻפְשָׁ֖ה

נִתַּן־

And he shall bring

to Yahweh ､

to

the door

אֹ֣הֶל

of the tabernacle

､ מוֹעֵ֑ד

mō·w·‘êḏ;

of meeting ､

אֵ֖יל

. אָשָֽׁם׃

as a trespass offering .

וְכִפֶּר֩

And shall make atonement

עָלָ֨יו

הַכֹּהֵ֜ן

בְּאֵ֤יל

with the ram

הָֽאָשָׁם֙

of the trespass offering

לִפְנֵ֣י

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

חַטָּאת֖וֹ

ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯōw

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

､ חָטָ֑א

ḥā·ṭā;

he has committed ､

וְנִסְלַ֣ח

wə·nis·laḥ

and shall be forgiven

ל֔וֹ

lōw,

מֵחַטָּאת֖וֹ

mê·ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯōw

the sin

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

. חָטָֽא׃

he has committed .

and have planted

כָּל־

kāl-

עֵ֣ץ

‘êṣ

､ מַאֲכָ֔ל

ma·’ă·ḵāl,

וַעֲרַלְתֶּ֥ם

wa·‘ă·ral·tem

then you shall count

עָרְלָת֖וֹ

‘ā·rə·lā·ṯōw

as uncircumcised

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

. פִּרְי֑וֹ

pir·yōw;

שָׁלֹ֣שׁ

šā·lōš

שָׁנִ֗ים

šā·nîm,

יִהְיֶ֥ה

yih·yeh

it shall be

לָכֶ֛ם

lā·ḵem

to you

– עֲרֵלִ֖ים

‘ă·rê·lîm

as uncircumcised –

. יֵאָכֵֽל׃

[It] shall be eaten .

וּבַשָּׁנָה֙

But in the year

הָרְבִיעִ֔ת

כָּל־

פִּרְי֑וֹ

pir·yōw;

､ קֹ֥דֶשׁ

holy ､

הִלּוּלִ֖ים

hil·lū·lîm

. לַיהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה

ū·ḇaš·šā·nāh

And in the year

הַחֲמִישִׁ֗ת

ha·ḥă·mî·šiṯ,

תֹּֽאכְלוּ֙

tō·ḵə·lū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ פִּרְי֔וֹ

pir·yōw,

לְהוֹסִ֥יף

lə·hō·w·sîp̄

that it may yield

לָכֶ֖ם

lā·ḵem

to you

. תְּבוּאָת֑וֹ

tə·ḇū·’ā·ṯōw;

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I

יְהוָ֥ה

You shall eat [anything]

with

､ הַדָּ֑ם

the blood ､

shall you practice divination .

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

Or

. תְעוֹנֵֽנוּ׃

תַקִּ֔פוּ

You shall shave around

פְּאַ֖ת

､ רֹאשְׁכֶ֑ם

of your head ､

וְלֹ֣א

תַשְׁחִ֔ית

ṯaš·ḥîṯ,

shall you disfigure

אֵ֖ת

. זְקָנֶֽךָ׃

of your beard .

וְשֶׂ֣רֶט

wə·śe·reṭ

And any cuttings

､ לָנֶ֗פֶשׁ

for the dead ､

לֹ֤א

תִתְּנוּ֙

– בִּבְשַׂרְכֶ֔ם

biḇ·śar·ḵem,

in your flesh –

וּכְתֹ֣בֶת

ū·ḵə·ṯō·ḇeṯ

and

קַֽעֲקַ֔ע

qa·‘ă·qa‘,

לֹ֥א

lō

תִתְּנ֖וּ

ṯit·tə·nū

. בָּכֶ֑ם

bā·ḵem;

on you .

אֲנִ֖י

I

אַל־

Not

תְּחַלֵּ֥ל

אֶֽת־

בִּתְּךָ֖

bit·tə·ḵā

– לְהַזְנוֹתָ֑הּ

lə·haz·nō·w·ṯāh;

to cause her to be a harlot –

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

and lest

תִזְנֶ֣ה

ṯiz·neh

fall into harlotry

､ הָאָ֔רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ,

the land ､

וּמָלְאָ֥ה

ū·mā·lə·’āh

and become full

הָאָ֖רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

of the land

. זִמָּֽה׃

zim·māh.

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

שַׁבְּתֹתַ֣י

šab·bə·ṯō·ṯay

､ תִּשְׁמֹ֔רוּ

tiš·mō·rū,

You shall keep ､

וּמִקְדָּשִׁ֖י

ū·miq·dā·šî

and My sanctuary

. תִּירָ֑אוּ

tî·rā·’ū;

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

[am] Yahweh .

אַל־

’al-

תִּפְנ֤וּ

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ הָאֹבֹת֙

וְאֶל־

and

– הַיִּדְּעֹנִ֔ים

hay·yid·də·‘ō·nîm,

familiar spirits –

אַל־

’al-

not

תְּבַקְשׁ֖וּ

tə·ḇaq·šū

do seek after them

לְטָמְאָ֣ה

lə·ṭā·mə·’āh

. בָהֶ֑ם

ḇā·hem;

by them .

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem.

מִפְּנֵ֤י

mip·pə·nê

､ שֵׂיבָה֙

śê·ḇāh

the gray headed ､

תָּק֔וּם

tā·qūm,

וְהָדַרְתָּ֖

wə·hā·ḏar·tā

פְּנֵ֣י

pə·nê

､ זָקֵ֑ן

zā·qên;

of an old man ､

וְיָרֵ֥אתָ

wə·yā·rê·ṯā

and fear

. מֵּאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

mê·’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā

אֲנִ֥י

’ă·nî

I

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

[am] Yahweh .

to you

הַגֵּ֣ר ׀

and you shall love

､ בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט

בַּמִּדָּ֕ה

､ בַּמִּשְׁקָ֖ל

. וּבַמְּשׂוּרָֽה׃

מֹ֧אזְנֵי

mō·zə·nê

､ צֶ֣דֶק

ṣe·ḏeq

אַבְנֵי־

’aḇ·nê-

､ צֶ֗דֶק

ṣe·ḏeq,

אֵ֥יפַת

’ê·p̄aṯ

､ צֶ֛דֶק

ṣe·ḏeq

וְהִ֥ין

wə·hîn

and an hin

צֶ֖דֶק

ṣe·ḏeq

יִהְיֶ֣ה

yih·yeh

. לָכֶ֑ם

lā·ḵem;

אֲנִי֙

’ă·nî

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

､ אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem,

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

הוֹצֵ֥אתִי

hō·w·ṣê·ṯî

brought you out

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

’eṯ·ḵem

מֵאֶ֥רֶץ

mê·’e·reṣ

of the land

. מִצְרָֽיִם׃

of Egypt .

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֤ם

Therefore you shall observe

אֶת־

’eṯ-

כָּל־

kāl-

､ חֻקֹּתַי֙

ḥuq·qō·ṯay

My statutes ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

כָּל־

kāl-

､ מִשְׁפָּטַ֔י

miš·pā·ṭay,

My judgments ､

וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם

wa·‘ă·śî·ṯem

. אֹתָ֑ם

’ō·ṯām;

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî
