､ לֵאמֹֽר׃

lê·mōr.

זֹ֚את

חֻקַּ֣ת

ḥuq·qaṯ

[is] the ordinance

הַתּוֹרָ֔ה

hat·tō·w·rāh,

of the law

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

､ צִוָּ֥ה

ṣiw·wāh

has commanded ､

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ לֵאמֹ֑ר

lê·mōr;

דַּבֵּ֣ר ׀

dab·bêr

אֶל־

’el-

to

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

of Israel ､

וְיִקְח֣וּ

wə·yiq·ḥū

that they bring

אֵלֶיךָ֩

’ê·le·ḵā

פָרָ֨ה

p̄ā·rāh

אֲדֻמָּ֜ה

’ă·ḏum·māh

､ תְּמִימָ֗ה

tə·mî·māh,

without blemish ､

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

אֵֽין־

’ên-

not

בָּהּ֙

bāh

there [is]

､ מ֔וּם

mūm,

אֲשֶׁ֛ר

’ă·šer

לֹא־

lō-

עָלָ֥ה

‘ā·lāh

עָלֶ֖יהָ

‘ā·le·hā

[and] on which

– עֹֽל׃

‘ōl.

a yoke –

וּנְתַתֶּ֣ם

ū·nə·ṯat·tem

and You shall give

אֹתָ֔הּ

’ō·ṯāh,

it

אֶל־

’el-

to

אֶלְעָזָ֖ר

’el·‘ā·zār

､ הַכֹּהֵ֑ן

hak·kō·hên;

the priest ､

וְהוֹצִ֤יא

wə·hō·w·ṣî

that he may take

אֹתָהּ֙

’ō·ṯāh

it

אֶל־

’el-

מִח֣וּץ

mi·ḥūṣ

､ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה

lam·ma·ḥă·neh,

the camp ､

וְשָׁחַ֥ט

wə·šā·ḥaṭ

and shall be slaughtered

אֹתָ֖הּ

’ō·ṯāh

it

. לְפָנָֽיו׃

lə·p̄ā·nāw.

וְלָקַ֞ח

wə·lā·qaḥ

And shall take some

אֶלְעָזָ֧ר

’el·‘ā·zār

הַכֹּהֵ֛ן

hak·kō·hên

מִדָּמָ֖הּ

mid·dā·māh

､ בְּאֶצְבָּע֑וֹ

bə·’eṣ·bā·‘ōw;

with his finger ､

וְהִזָּ֞ה

wə·hiz·zāh

and sprinkle some

אֶל־

’el-

נֹ֨כַח

nō·ḵaḥ

פְּנֵ֧י

pə·nê

אֹֽהֶל־

’ō·hel-

of the tabernacle

מוֹעֵ֛ד

mō·w·‘êḏ

מִדָּמָ֖הּ

mid·dā·māh

שֶׁ֥בַע

še·ḇa‘

. פְּעָמִֽים׃

pə·‘ā·mîm.

וְשָׂרַ֥ף

wə·śā·rap̄

And shall be burned

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַפָּרָ֖ה

hap·pā·rāh

– לְעֵינָ֑יו

lə·‘ê·nāw;

in his sight –

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ עֹרָ֤הּ

‘ō·rāh

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

､ בְּשָׂרָהּ֙

bə·śā·rāh

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

､ דָּמָ֔הּ

dā·māh,

עַל־

‘al-

and

､ פִּרְשָׁ֖הּ

pir·šāh

. יִשְׂרֹֽף׃

yiś·rōp̄.

shall be burned .

וְלָקַ֣ח

wə·lā·qaḥ

הַכֹּהֵ֗ן

hak·kō·hên,

､ עֵ֥ץ

‘êṣ

wood ､

אֶ֛רֶז

’e·rez

､ וְאֵז֖וֹב

wə·’ê·zō·wḇ

and hyssop ､

וּשְׁנִ֣י

ū·šə·nî

and

､ תוֹלָ֑עַת

ṯō·w·lā·‘aṯ;

וְהִשְׁלִ֕יךְ

wə·hiš·lîḵ

and cast [them]

אֶל־

’el-

תּ֖וֹךְ

tō·wḵ

שְׂרֵפַ֥ת

śə·rê·p̄aṯ

of the fire burning

. הַפָּרָֽה׃

hap·pā·rāh.

the heifer .

וְכִבֶּ֨ס

wə·ḵib·bes

､ בְּגָדָ֜יו

bə·ḡā·ḏāw

his clothes ､

הַכֹּהֵ֗ן

hak·kō·hên,

וְרָחַ֤ץ

wə·rā·ḥaṣ

and he shall bathe

בְּשָׂרוֹ֙

bə·śā·rōw

､ בַּמַּ֔יִם

bam·ma·yim,

in water ､

וְאַחַ֖ר

wə·’a·ḥar

יָב֣וֹא

yā·ḇō·w

אֶל־

’el-

､ הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה

ham·ma·ḥă·neh;

the camp ､

וְטָמֵ֥א

wə·ṭā·mê

and shall be unclean

הַכֹּהֵ֖ן

hak·kō·hên

עַד־

‘aḏ-

. הָעָֽרֶב׃

hā·‘ā·reḇ.

וְהַשֹּׂרֵ֣ף

wə·haś·śō·rêp̄

And the one who burns

אֹתָ֔הּ

’ō·ṯāh,

it

יְכַבֵּ֤ס

yə·ḵab·bês

בְּגָדָיו֙

bə·ḡā·ḏāw

､ בַּמַּ֔יִם

bam·ma·yim,

in water ､

וְרָחַ֥ץ

wə·rā·ḥaṣ

בְּשָׂר֖וֹ

bə·śā·rōw

､ בַּמָּ֑יִם

bam·mā·yim;

in water ､

וְטָמֵ֖א

wə·ṭā·mê

and shall be unclean

עַד־

‘aḏ-

. הָעָֽרֶב׃

hā·‘ā·reḇ.

וְאָסַ֣ף ׀

wə·’ā·sap̄

And shall gather up

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

טָה֗וֹר

ṭā·hō·wr,

אֵ֚ת

’êṯ

-

אֵ֣פֶר

’ê·p̄er

､ הַפָּרָ֔ה

hap·pā·rāh,

of the heifer ､

וְהִנִּ֛יחַ

wə·hin·nî·aḥ

and store [them]

מִח֥וּץ

mi·ḥūṣ

לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה

lam·ma·ḥă·neh

the camp

､ בְּמָק֣וֹם

bə·mā·qō·wm

in a place ､

טָה֑וֹר

ṭā·hō·wr;

וְ֠הָיְתָה

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

and they shall be

לַעֲדַ֨ת

la·‘ă·ḏaṯ

for the congregation

בְּנֵֽי־

bə·nê-

of the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל

yiś·rā·’êl

לְמִשְׁמֶ֛רֶת

lə·miš·me·reṯ

לְמֵ֥י

lə·mê

– נִדָּ֖ה

nid·dāh

of purification –

חַטָּ֥את

ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ

for purifying from sin

. הִֽוא׃

it [is] .

וְ֠כִבֶּס

wə·ḵib·bes

הָאֹסֵ֨ף

hā·’ō·sêp̄

the one who gathers

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֵ֤פֶר

’ê·p̄er

הַפָּרָה֙

hap·pā·rāh

of the heifer

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ בְּגָדָ֔יו

bə·ḡā·ḏāw,

his clothes ､

וְטָמֵ֖א

wə·ṭā·mê

and be unclean

עַד־

‘aḏ-

– הָעָ֑רֶב

hā·‘ā·reḇ;

וְֽהָיְתָ֞ה

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

and it shall be

לִבְנֵ֣י

liḇ·nê

to the sons

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

of Israel ､

וְלַגֵּ֛ר

wə·lag·gêr

and to the stranger

הַגָּ֥ר

hag·gār

בְּתוֹכָ֖ם

bə·ṯō·w·ḵām

לְחֻקַּ֥ת

lə·ḥuq·qaṯ

. עוֹלָֽם׃

‘ō·w·lām.

Purification of the Unclean

הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ

han·nō·ḡê·a‘

בְּמֵ֖ת

bə·mêṯ

the dead

לְכָל־

lə·ḵāl

נֶ֣פֶשׁ

ne·p̄eš

אָדָ֑ם

’ā·ḏām;

וְטָמֵ֖א

wə·ṭā·mê

and shall be unclean

שִׁבְעַ֥ת

šiḇ·‘aṯ

. יָמִֽים׃

yā·mîm.

ה֣וּא

He

יִתְחַטָּא־

yiṯ·ḥaṭ·ṭā-

shall purify himself

ב֞וֹ

ḇōw

with the water

､ בַּיּ֧וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on the day ､

הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֛י

haš·šə·lî·šî

וּבַיּ֥וֹם

ū·ḇay·yō·wm

and on the day

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î

– יִטְהָ֑ר

yiṭ·hār;

[then] he will be clean –

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

but if

לֹ֨א

lō

not

יִתְחַטָּ֜א

yiṯ·ḥaṭ·ṭā

he does purify himself

､ בַּיּ֧וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on the day ､

הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֛י

haš·šə·lî·šî

וּבַיּ֥וֹם

ū·ḇay·yō·wm

and on the day

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î

לֹ֥א

lō

not

. יִטְהָֽר׃

yiṭ·hār.

he will be clean .

הַנֹּגֵ֡עַ

han·nō·ḡê·a‘

בְּמֵ֣ת

bə·mêṯ

the dead

בְּנֶפֶשׁ֩

bə·ne·p̄eš

הָאָדָ֨ם

אֲשֶׁר־

וְלֹ֣א

and not

､ יִתְחַטָּ֗א

yiṯ·ḥaṭ·ṭā,

does purify himself ､

אֶת־

’eṯ-

מִשְׁכַּ֤ן

the tabernacle of

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

טִמֵּ֔א

ṭim·mê,

וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה

wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh

and shall be cut off

הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ

han·ne·p̄eš

הַהִ֖וא

ha·hi·w

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

mî·yiś·rā·’êl;

כִּי֩

This [is]

in a tent –

כָּל־

הַבָּ֤א

אֶל־

’el-

､ הָאֹ֙הֶל֙

hā·’ō·hel

the tent ､

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

and all

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

､ בָּאֹ֔הֶל

bā·’ō·hel,

in the tent ､

יִטְמָ֖א

yiṭ·mā

shall be unclean

שִׁבְעַ֥ת

šiḇ·‘aṯ

. יָמִֽים׃

yā·mîm.

וְכֹל֙

wə·ḵōl

､ כְּלִ֣י

kə·lî

פָת֔וּחַ

p̄ā·ṯū·aḥ,

אֲשֶׁ֛ר

בַּֽחֲלַל־

ba·ḥă·lal-

one who is slain by

חֶ֙רֶב֙

or

､ בְמֵ֔ת

ḇə·mêṯ,

who has died ､

אֽוֹ־

’ōw-

or

בְעֶ֥צֶם

ḇə·‘e·ṣem

､ אָדָ֖ם

’ā·ḏām

of a man ､

א֣וֹ

’ōw

or

､ בְקָ֑בֶר

ḇə·qā·ḇer;

a grave ､

יִטְמָ֖א

yiṭ·mā

shall be unclean

שִׁבְעַ֥ת

šiḇ·‘aṯ

וְלָֽקְחוּ֙

wə·lā·qə·ḥū

And they shall take some

לַטָּמֵ֔א

laṭ·ṭā·mê,

for an unclean [person]

מֵעֲפַ֖ר

mê·‘ă·p̄ar

of the ashes

שְׂרֵפַ֣ת

śə·rê·p̄aṯ

of the burnt heifer for

､ הַֽחַטָּ֑את

ha·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ;

purification from sin ､

וְנָתַ֥ן

wə·nā·ṯan

and shall be put

עָלָ֛יו

‘ā·lāw

מַ֥יִם

ma·yim

חַיִּ֖ים

ḥay·yîm

אֶל־

’el-

in

. כֶּֽלִי׃

ke·lî.

וְלָקַ֨ח

wə·lā·qaḥ

､ אֵז֜וֹב

’ê·zō·wḇ

וְטָבַ֣ל

wə·ṭā·ḇal

and dip [it]

､ בַּמַּיִם֮

bam·ma·yim

in the water ､

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

טָהוֹר֒

ṭā·hō·wr

וְהִזָּ֤ה

wə·hiz·zāh

and sprinkle [it]

עַל־

‘al-

on

､ הָאֹ֙הֶל֙

hā·’ō·hel

the tent ､

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and on

כָּל־

kāl-

､ הַכֵּלִ֔ים

hak·kê·lîm,

the vessels ､

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and on

הַנְּפָשׁ֖וֹת

han·nə·p̄ā·šō·wṯ

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

הָֽיוּ־

hā·yū-

､ שָׁ֑ם

šām;

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

or on

הַנֹּגֵ֗עַ

han·nō·ḡê·a‘,

the one who touched

､ בַּעֶ֙צֶם֙

ba·‘e·ṣem

a bone ､

א֣וֹ

’ōw

or

､ בֶֽחָלָ֔ל

ḇe·ḥā·lāl,

the slain ､

א֥וֹ

’ōw

or

､ בַמֵּ֖ת

ḇam·mêṯ

the dead ､

א֥וֹ

’ōw

or

. בַקָּֽבֶר׃

ḇaq·qā·ḇer.

וְהִזָּ֤ה

wə·hiz·zāh

And shall sprinkle

הַטָּהֹר֙

haṭ·ṭā·hōr

the clean [person]

עַל־

‘al-

on

הַטָּמֵ֔א

haṭ·ṭā·mê,

､ בַּיּ֥וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on the day ､

הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֖י

haš·šə·lî·šî

– וּבַיּ֣וֹם

ū·ḇay·yō·wm

and on the day –

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑י

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î;

וְחִטְּאוֹ֙

wə·ḥiṭ·ṭə·’ōw

and he shall purify himself

בַּיּ֣וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on the day

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î,

וְכִבֶּ֧ס

wə·ḵib·bes

and wash

､ בְּגָדָ֛יו

bə·ḡā·ḏāw

his clothes ､

וְרָחַ֥ץ

wə·rā·ḥaṣ

､ בַּמַּ֖יִם

bam·ma·yim

in water ､

וְטָהֵ֥ר

wə·ṭā·hêr

and he shall be clean

. בָּעָֽרֶב׃

bā·‘ā·reḇ.

וְאִ֤ישׁ

wə·’îš

But the man

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

､ יִטְמָא֙

yiṭ·mā

is unclean ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

､ יִתְחַטָּ֔א

yiṯ·ḥaṭ·ṭā,

does purify himself ､

וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה

wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh

and shall be cut off

הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ

han·ne·p̄eš

הַהִ֖וא

ha·hi·w

מִתּ֣וֹךְ

mit·tō·wḵ

､ הַקָּהָ֑ל

haq·qā·hāl;

the assembly ､

כִּי֩

kî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

מִקְדַּ֨שׁ

miq·daš

– יְהוָ֜ה

Yah·weh

of Yahweh –

טִמֵּ֗א

has been sprinkled

עָלָ֖יו

on him

And it shall be

לְחֻקַּ֣ת

וּמַזֵּ֤ה

and He who sprinkles

מֵֽי־

mê-

הַנִּדָּה֙

han·nid·dāh

of purification

יְכַבֵּ֣ס

yə·ḵab·bês

– בְּגָדָ֔יו

bə·ḡā·ḏāw,

his clothes –

וְהַנֹּגֵ֙עַ֙

wə·han·nō·ḡê·a‘

and he who touches

בְּמֵ֣י

bə·mê

הַנִּדָּ֔ה

han·nid·dāh,

of purification

יִטְמָ֖א

yiṭ·mā

shall be unclean

עַד־

‘aḏ-

. הָעָֽרֶב׃

hā·‘ā·reḇ.

וְכֹ֛ל

wə·ḵōl

And

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

יִגַּע־

yig·ga‘-

בּ֥וֹ

bōw

in

הַטָּמֵ֖א

haṭ·ṭā·mê

the unclean [person]

– יִטְמָ֑א

yiṭ·mā;

shall be unclean –

וְהַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ

wə·han·ne·p̄eš

and the person

הַנֹּגַ֖עַת

han·nō·ḡa·‘aṯ

who touches [it]

תִּטְמָ֥א

tiṭ·mā

shall be unclean

עַד־

‘aḏ-

. הָעָֽרֶב׃

hā·‘ā·reḇ.
