גְּ֝אָלָ֗ם
gə·’ā·lām,
מִיַּד־
mî·yaḏ-
– צָֽר׃
ṣār.
of the enemy –

､ וּֽמֵאֲרָצ֗וֹת
ū·mê·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ,
and out of the lands ､
קִ֫בְּצָ֥ם
qib·bə·ṣām
､ מִמִּזְרָ֥ח
mim·miz·rāḥ
from the east ､
､ וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב
ū·mim·ma·‘ă·rāḇ;
and from the west ､
､ מִצָּפ֥וֹן
miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn
from the north ､
. וּמִיָּֽם׃
ū·mî·yām.
and from the south .

בַ֭מִּדְבָּר

in the wilderness
בִּישִׁימ֣וֹן

– דָּ֑רֶךְ

a way –
עִ֥יר

מ֝וֹשָׁ֗ב

to dwell in
לֹ֣א

. מָצָֽאוּ׃

רְעֵבִ֥ים
rə·‘ê·ḇîm
גַּם־
gam-
and
､ צְמֵאִ֑ים
ṣə·mê·’îm;
נַ֝פְשָׁ֗ם
nap̄·šām,
בָּהֶ֥ם
bā·hem
in them
. תִּתְעַטָּֽף׃
tiṯ·‘aṭ·ṭāp̄.

וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ
way·yiṣ·‘ă·qū
אֶל־
’el-
to
יְ֭הוָה
Yah·weh
､ בַּצַּ֣ר
baṣ·ṣar
in trouble ､
לָהֶ֑ם
lā·hem;
מִ֝מְּצֽוּקוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם
mim·mə·ṣū·qō·w·ṯê·hem,
. יַצִּילֵֽם׃
yaṣ·ṣî·lêm.
[And] He delivered them .

וַ֭יַּֽדְרִיכֵם
way·yaḏ·rî·ḵêm
And He led them forth
､ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ
bə·ḏe·reḵ
by the way ､
יְשָׁרָ֑ה
yə·šā·rāh;
לָ֝לֶ֗כֶת
lā·le·ḵeṯ,
אֶל־
’el-
to
עִ֥יר
‘îr
. מוֹשָֽׁב׃
mō·wō·šāḇ.

יוֹד֣וּ

לַיהוָ֣ה
Yah·weh
､ חַסְדּ֑וֹ
ḥas·dōw;
וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו
wə·nip̄·lə·’ō·w·ṯāw,
לִבְנֵ֥י
liḇ·nê
to the sons
! אָדָֽם׃
’ā·ḏām.
of men !

כִּי־
kî-
הִ֭שְׂבִּיעַ
hiś·bî·a‘
､ נֶ֣פֶשׁ
ne·p̄eš
the soul ､
שֹׁקֵקָ֑ה
šō·qê·qāh;
וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ
wə·ne·p̄eš
and the soul
רְ֝עֵבָה
rə·‘ê·ḇāh
מִלֵּא־
mil·lê-
. טֽוֹב׃
ṭō·wḇ.
with goodness .

יֹ֭שְׁבֵי
yō·šə·ḇê
חֹ֣שֶׁךְ
ḥō·šeḵ
､ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת
wə·ṣal·mā·weṯ;
and in the shadow of death ､
אֲסִירֵ֖י
’ă·sî·rê
עֳנִ֣י
‘o·nî
– וּבַרְזֶֽל׃
ū·ḇar·zel.
and irons –

כִּֽי־
kî-
הִמְר֥וּ
him·rū
אִמְרֵי־
’im·rê-
the words
､ אֵ֑ל
’êl;
of God ､
וַעֲצַ֖ת
wa·‘ă·ṣaṯ
and the counsel
– עֶלְי֣וֹן
‘el·yō·wn
of the Most High –
. נָאָֽצוּ׃
nā·’ā·ṣū.

וַיַּכְנַ֣ע
way·yaḵ·na‘
– בֶּעָמָ֣ל
be·‘ā·māl
with labor –
לִבָּ֑ם
lib·bām;
､ כָּ֝שְׁל֗וּ
kā·šə·lū,
וְאֵ֣ין
wə·’ên
and [there was] none
. עֹזֵֽר׃
‘ō·zêr.
to help .

וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ
way·yiz·‘ă·qū
אֶל־
’el-
to
יְ֭הוָה
Yah·weh
､ בַּצַּ֣ר
baṣ·ṣar
in trouble ､
לָהֶ֑ם
lā·hem;
מִ֝מְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם
mim·mə·ṣu·qō·w·ṯê·hem,
. יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃
yō·wō·šî·‘êm.
[And] He saved them .

יֽ֭וֹצִיאֵם

מֵחֹ֣שֶׁךְ
mê·ḥō·šeḵ
､ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת
wə·ṣal·mā·weṯ;
and the shadow of death ､
וּמוֹסְר֖וֹתֵיהֶ֣ם
ū·mō·ws·rō·w·ṯê·hem
. יְנַתֵּֽק׃
yə·nat·têq.

to the sons

the gates

and the bars
בַרְזֶ֣ל

of iron

cut in two .

’ĕ·wi·lîm
מִדֶּ֣רֶךְ
mid·de·reḵ
､ פִּשְׁעָ֑ם
piš·‘ām;
､ וּֽ֝מֵעֲוֺֽנֹתֵיהֶ֗ם
ū·mê·‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·hem,
. יִתְעַנּֽוּ׃
yiṯ·‘an·nū.

כָּל־

of food –
תְּתַעֵ֣ב
tə·ṯa·‘êḇ
נַפְשָׁ֑ם
nap̄·šām;
וַ֝יַּגִּ֗יעוּ
way·yag·gî·‘ū,
עַד־
‘aḏ-
to
שַׁ֥עֲרֵי
ša·‘ă·rê
the gates
. מָֽוֶת׃
mā·weṯ.
of death .

וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ
way·yiz·‘ă·qū
אֶל־
’el-
to
יְ֭הוָה
Yah·weh
､ בַּצַּ֣ר
baṣ·ṣar
in trouble ､
לָהֶ֑ם
lā·hem;
מִ֝מְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם
mim·mə·ṣu·qō·w·ṯê·hem,
. יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃
yō·wō·šî·‘êm.
[And] He saved them .

יִשְׁלַ֣ח
yiš·laḥ
He sent
､ דְּ֭בָרוֹ
də·ḇā·rōw
His word ､
וְיִרְפָּאֵ֑ם
wə·yir·pā·’êm;
וִֽ֝ימַלֵּ֗ט
wî·mal·lêṭ,
. מִשְּׁחִיתוֹתָֽם׃
miš·šə·ḥî·ṯō·w·ṯām.

לַיהוָ֣ה
Yah·weh
､ חַסְדּ֑וֹ
ḥas·dōw;
וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו

לִבְנֵ֥י
liḇ·nê
to the sons
! אָדָֽם׃
’ā·ḏām.
of men !

זִבְחֵ֣י
ziḇ·ḥê
､ תוֹדָ֑ה

וִֽיסַפְּר֖וּ

מַעֲשָׂ֣יו
ma·‘ă·śāw
. בְּרִנָּֽה׃
bə·rin·nāh.
with rejoicing .

יוֹרְדֵ֣י

הַ֭יָּם
hay·yām
to the sea
､ בָּאֳנִיּ֑וֹת
bā·’o·nî·yō·wṯ;
in ships ､
עֹשֵׂ֥י
‘ō·śê
who do
מְ֝לָאכָ֗ה
mə·lā·ḵāh,
– בְּמַ֣יִם
bə·ma·yim
on waters –
. רַבִּֽים׃
rab·bîm.
‪‬׆‬

הֵ֣מָּה
hêm·māh
רָ֭אוּ
rā·’ū
מַעֲשֵׂ֣י
ma·‘ă·śê
the works
､ יְהוָ֑ה
Yah·weh;
of Yahweh ､
וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו
wə·nip̄·lə·’ō·w·ṯāw,
. בִּמְצוּלָֽה׃
bim·ṣū·lāh.
in the deep .
‪‬׆‬
-

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר
way·yō·mer,
For He commands ､
וַֽ֭יַּעֲמֵד
way·ya·‘ă·mêḏ
and raises
､ ר֣וּחַ
rū·aḥ
the wind ､
סְעָרָ֑ה
sə·‘ā·rāh;
וַתְּרוֹמֵ֥ם
wat·tə·rō·w·mêm
and which lifts up
. גַּלָּֽיו׃
gal·lāw.
the waves of the [sea] .
‪‬׆‬

יַעֲל֣וּ
ya·‘ă·lū
､ שָׁ֭מַיִם
ma·yim
to the heavens ､
יֵרְד֣וּ
yê·rə·ḏū
– תְהוֹמ֑וֹת
ṯə·hō·w·mō·wṯ;
to the depths –
נַ֝פְשָׁ֗ם
nap̄·šām,
בְּרָעָ֥ה
bə·rā·‘āh
. תִתְמוֹגָֽג׃
ṯiṯ·mō·w·ḡāḡ.

､ יָח֣וֹגּוּ
yā·ḥō·w·gū
They reel to and fro ､
וְ֭יָנוּעוּ
wə·yā·nū·‘ū
､ כַּשִּׁכּ֑וֹר
kaš·šik·kō·wr;
וְכָל־
wə·ḵāl
and
חָ֝כְמָתָ֗ם
ḥā·ḵə·mā·ṯām,
. תִּתְבַּלָּֽע׃
tiṯ·bal·lā‘.
are at end .

וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ
way·yiṣ·‘ă·qū
אֶל־
’el-
to
יְ֭הוָה
Yah·weh
､ בַּצַּ֣ר
baṣ·ṣar
in trouble ､
לָהֶ֑ם
lā·hem;
וּֽ֝מִמְּצֽוּקֹתֵיהֶ֗ם
ū·mim·mə·ṣū·qō·ṯê·hem,
. יוֹצִיאֵֽם׃

He
סְ֭עָרָה

the storm
､ לִדְמָמָ֑ה
liḏ·mā·māh;
calms ､
וַ֝יֶּחֱשׁ֗וּ
way·ye·ḥĕ·šū,
. גַּלֵּיהֶֽם׃
gal·lê·hem.

וַיִּשְׂמְח֥וּ
way·yiś·mə·ḥū
כִֽי־
ḵî-
– יִשְׁתֹּ֑קוּ
yiš·tō·qū;
וַ֝יַּנְחֵ֗ם
way·yan·ḥêm,
so He guides them
אֶל־
’el-
to
מְח֥וֹז
mə·ḥō·wz
. חֶפְצָֽם׃
ḥep̄·ṣām.

לַיהוָ֣ה
Yah·weh
､ חַסְדּ֑וֹ
ḥas·dōw;
וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו
wə·nip̄·lə·’ō·w·ṯāw,
לִבְנֵ֥י
liḇ·nê
to the sons
! אָדָֽם׃

וִֽ֭ירֹמְמוּהוּ
wî·rō·mə·mū·hū
בִּקְהַל־
biq·hal-
in the assembly
､ עָ֑ם
‘ām;
of the people ､
וּבְמוֹשַׁ֖ב
ū·ḇə·mō·wō·šaḇ
and in the company
זְקֵנִ֣ים
zə·qê·nîm
of the elders
. יְהַלְלֽוּהוּ׃
yə·hal·lū·hū.

נְהָר֣וֹת
nə·hā·rō·wṯ
､ לְמִדְבָּ֑ר
lə·miḏ·bār;
וּמֹצָ֥אֵי
ū·mō·ṣā·’ê
and
מַ֝֗יִם
ma·yim,
– לְצִמָּאֽוֹן׃
lə·ṣim·mā·’ō·wn.

אֶ֣רֶץ
’e·reṣ
פְּ֭רִי
pə·rî
､ לִמְלֵחָ֑ה
lim·lê·ḥāh;
מֵ֝רָעַ֗ת
mê·rā·‘aṯ,
יֹ֣שְׁבֵי
yō·šə·ḇê
. בָֽהּ׃
ḇāh.

יָשֵׂ֣ם

מִ֭דְבָּר
miḏ·bār
לַֽאֲגַם־
la·’ă·ḡam-
､ מַ֑יִם
ma·yim;
of water ､
וְאֶ֥רֶץ
wə·’e·reṣ
and land
צִ֝יָּ֗ה
ṣî·yāh,
לְמֹצָ֥אֵי
lə·mō·ṣā·’ê
. מָֽיִם׃
mā·yim.

､ וַיּ֣וֹשֶׁב
way·yō·wō·šeḇ
And He makes dwell ､
שָׁ֣ם
šām
､ רְעֵבִ֑ים
rə·‘ê·ḇîm;
the hungry ､
וַ֝יְכוֹנְנ֗וּ
way·ḵō·wn·nū,
עִ֣יר
‘îr
– מוֹשָֽׁב׃
mō·wō·šāḇ.

וַיִּזְרְע֣וּ
way·yiz·rə·‘ū
and sow
､ שָׂ֭דוֹת
ḏō·wṯ
fields ､
וַיִּטְּע֣וּ
way·yiṭ·ṭə·‘ū
and plant
､ כְרָמִ֑ים
ḵə·rā·mîm;
וַ֝יַּעֲשׂ֗וּ
way·ya·‘ă·śū,
פְּרִ֣י
pə·rî
. תְבֽוּאָה׃
ṯə·ḇū·’āh.
38
וַיְבָרֲכֵ֣ם
way·ḇā·ră·ḵêm
And He blesses them
וַיִּרְבּ֣וּ
way·yir·bū
– מְאֹ֑ד
mə·’ōḏ;
וּ֝בְהֶמְתָּ֗ם
ū·ḇə·hem·tām,
לֹ֣א
lō
not
. יַמְעִֽיט׃
yam·‘îṭ.
39
וַיִּמְעֲט֥וּ
way·yim·‘ă·ṭū
וַיָּשֹׁ֑חוּ
way·yā·šō·ḥū;
､ מֵעֹ֖צֶר
mê·‘ō·ṣer
､ רָעָ֣ה
rā·‘āh
. וְיָגֽוֹן׃
wə·yā·ḡō·wn.
and sorrow .
‪‬׆‬
-
40
שֹׁפֵ֣ךְ
šō·p̄êḵ
בּ֭וּז
būz
עַל־
‘al-
on
､ נְדִיבִ֑ים
nə·ḏî·ḇîm;
וַ֝יַּתְעֵ֗ם
way·yaṯ·‘êm,
､ בְּתֹ֣הוּ
bə·ṯō·hū
in the wilderness ､
לֹא־
lō-
[where there is] no
. דָֽרֶךְ׃
ḏā·reḵ.
way .
41
וַיְשַׂגֵּ֣ב
way·śag·gêḇ
And yet He sets on high
אֶבְי֣וֹן
’eḇ·yō·wn
the poor
､ מֵע֑וֹנִי
mê·‘ō·w·nî;
וַיָּ֥שֶׂם
way·yā·śem
and makes
כַּ֝צֹּ֗אן
kaṣ·ṣōn,
. מִשְׁפָּחֽוֹת׃
miš·pā·ḥō·wṯ.
42
יִרְא֣וּ
yir·’ū
See [it]
יְשָׁרִ֣ים
yə·šā·rîm
– וְיִשְׂמָ֑חוּ
wə·yiś·mā·ḥū;
and rejoice –
וְכָל־
wə·ḵāl
and all
עַ֝וְלָ֗ה
‘aw·lāh,
קָ֣פְצָה
qā·p̄ə·ṣāh
. פִּֽיהָ׃
pî·hā.
43
מִי־
mî-
Who [is]
､ חָכָ֥ם
ḥā·ḵām
wise ､
וְיִשְׁמָר־
wə·yiš·mār-
אֵ֑לֶּה
’êl·leh;
וְ֝יִתְבּֽוֹנְנ֗וּ
wə·yiṯ·bō·wn·nū,
and they will understand
חַֽסְדֵ֥י
ḥas·ḏê
. יְהוָֽה׃
Yah·weh.
