'Submit to' in the Bible
It was just after that that Jesus Christ for the first time clearly taught His disciples that He had to go to Jerusalem and submit to many forms of suffering at the hands of the elders, high priests, and scribes, and be killed, but be raised to life on the third day.
Otherwise, what do those people mean who submit to being baptized on behalf of their dead? If the dead are never raised at all, why do they submit to being baptized on their behalf?
If once through fellowship with Christ you died and were separated from the world's crude notions, why do you live as though you belonged to the world? Why submit to rules such as,
Constantly remind people to submit to and obey the rulers who have authority over them, so as to be ready for any good enterprise,
You must submit to discipline. God is dealing with you as His sons. For who is the son that his father never disciplines?
Furthermore, we had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we used to treat them with respect; how much more cheerfully should we submit to the Father of our spirits, and live!
So then, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will fly from you.
For the Lord's sake submit to all human authority; to the emperor as supreme,
Therefore humbly submit to God's strong hand, so that at the proper time He may exalt you.
