'Take a Census' in the Bible

"{When you take a census of} the {Israelites} to count them, they will each give the ransom of his life for Yahweh when counting them, and a plague will not be among them when counting them.

"{Take a census of} the entire community of the {Israelites} according to their clans and {their families}, according to [the] number of names, every male individually

"You will not muster the tribe of Levi, and you will not {take a census of} them in the midst of the {Israelites}.

"{Take a census} of the descendants of Kohath from the midst of the descendants of Levi, according to their clans and {their families},

"{Take a census} of the descendants of Gershon also, according to {their families} and clans,

"{Take a census} of the community of the {Israelites} from {those twenty years old} and above, according to {their families}, all who are able to go out to war in Israel."

"[Take a census of the community] from {those twenty years old} and above, just as Yahweh commanded Moses." The Israelites who went out from the land of Egypt [were]:

And David did not {take a census of those twenty years old or under} because Yahweh promised to make Israel more numerous than the stars of heaven.
