There were present at the same time, some that told Him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
But the ruler of the synagogue, being provoked that Jesus had wrought a cure on the sabbath-day, said to the people, There are six days in which ye ought to work; on these therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath-day.
The Lord therefore answered him and said, Thou hypocrite, does not any of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall and lead him away to watering?
And he went through the cities and villages teaching, as He journeyed towards Jerusalem.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and ye would not?
At the same time came some of the pharisees, and said to Him, Go out and depart hence, for Herod intends to kill thee.
But He said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate; for I tell you, many will desire to enter in, and shall not be able.
Upon his saying this, all his adversaries were ashamed: but the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
It is like leaven, which a woman took and put into three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Then said He, To what is the kingdom of God like, and to what shall I compare it?
Yea they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, do ye think that they were sinners above all the inhabitants in Jerusalem?
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye think that these were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things?
And He spake this parable, A certain man had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, but found none.
And He said to them, Go, tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and to-morrow; and in a little while I am to be perfected:
there was a woman that had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and utterly unable to lift herself upright.
And might not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath-day?
And he said to the vine-dresser, behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig-tree, and find none: cut it down, why should it cumber the ground?
And he said to him, Sir, let it alone this year also, till I dig about it, and lay dung to it:
And He laid his hands upon her; and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
