Matthew 22:41-46 - David's Son And Lord
41 And the Pharisees, having been gathered together, Jesus questioned them, 42 saying, "What think ye concerning the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They say to Him, "David's."
43 He saith to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said to my Lord, 'Sit on My right hand, till I put Thy foes beneath Thy feet.'
45 If, then, David calls Him Lord, how is He his Son?" 46 And no one was able to answer Him a word; nor did any one dare from that day to question Him any more.
35 And Jesus, answering, said, while teaching in the temple, "How do the scribes say that the Christ is David's Son? 36 David himself said in the Holy Spirit, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on My right hand, until I put Thy enemies underneath Thy feet.'
37 David himself calls Him Lord; and whence is He his Son?" And the great multitude heard Him gladly.
41 And He said to them, "How say they that the Christ is David's Son? 42 For David himself says in the book of Psalms, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit Thou on My right hand, 43 until I make Thy enemies a footstool of Thy feet.'
44 David, therefore, calls Him Lord; and how is He his Son?"
