Matthew 24:15-28 - The Abomination Of Desolation

Matthew 24:15-28

15 "When, therefore, ye see the abomination of the desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (let him that reads understand), 16 then let those in Judaea flee into the mountains; 17 let him who is on the house-top not go down to take away the things out of his house; 18 and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his garment. 19 But woe to the women with child, and to those giving suck, in those days! 20 And pray, that your flight be not in winter, nor on a sabbath; 21 for then will be great tribulation, such as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now; no, nor ever shall be. 22 And, unless those days should be shortened, no flesh could be saved: but, for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened.

23 Then, if any one shall say to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ!' or 'Here,' believe it not; 24 for there will arise false Christs and false prophets; and they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 Behold, I have foretold you. 26 If, therefore, they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness;' go not forth; 'Behold, He is in the secret chambers,' believe it not, 27 For, as the lightning comes forth from the east, and shines unto the west, so shall be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wheresoever the carcase is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

Mark 13:14-23

14 But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not, (let him that reads understand), then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains; 15 And let him who is on the house not come down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house; 16 and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his garment. 17 But woe to those with child and to those giving suck in those days! 18 And pray that it be not in winter; 19 for those days will be a time of tribulation, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be. 20 And, unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would have been saved; but, for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

21 And then, if any one shall say to you, 'Lo, here is the Christ!' or, 'Lo, there!' believe him not; 22 for there will arise false Christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect. 23 But take heed; I have foretold you all things.
