Matthew 27:32-44 - Jesus Is Crucified

Matthew 27:32-44

32 And going out they found a Cyrenean man, Simon by name: they compelled him that he should bear His cross. 33 Having come to the place called Golgotha, which is called the place of a skull. 34 And they gave Him vinegar mingled with gall to drink: and tasting, He was not willing to drink it. 35 And crucifying Him, they divided His garments, casting the lot, 36 and sitting down, they continued to watch Him there. 37 And they placed over His head, His accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

38 Then two thieves are crucified along with Him, the one on the right and one on the left. 39 And going by they continued to blaspheme Him, wagging their heads, 40 and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking, with the scribes and elders, continued to say, 42 He saved others; He is not able to save Himself: if He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on Him. 43 He trusted in God; let Him now deliver Him, if He wishes Him; for He said, I am the Son of God. 44 And the thieves being crucified along with Him were also reproaching Him in the same manner.

Mark 15:21-32

21 And they compel a certain Simon, a Cyrenean, coming from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, that he must take His cross. 22 And they lead Him to Golgotha, a place which is interpreted, The place of a skull. 23 And they gave Him myrrhed wine to drink: and He did not take it. 24 And they crucify Him, and divide His garments, casting the lot upon them, what each one may take. 25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified Him. 26 And the superscription of His accusation was written over Him, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

27 And they crucify two thieves along with Him; the one on His right, and one on His left. 28 OMITTED TEXT 29 And passing by they continued to blaspheme Him, wagging their heads, and saying, Aha, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, 30 save thyself, and come down from the cross. 31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking to one another with the scribes, continued to say, He saved others; He is not able to save Himself. 32 Let Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, in order that we may see and believe. And those being crucified along with Him were reproaching Him.

Luke 23:26-43

26 And when they were leading Him away, taking a certain Simon, a Cyrenean, coming from the country, they placed the cross on him, to carry it after Jesus. 27 And a great multitude of people followed Him, and of women who were both weeping and bewailing Him. 28 And Jesus turning to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and your children. 29 Because behold, the days are coming, in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that did not bring forth, and the breasts that did not nurse. 30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Hide us. 31 Because if they do these things in the green tree, what may be done in the dry?

32 And two malefactors were also led away with Him, to be executed. 33 And when they came to the place called Calvary. There they crucified Him, and the malefactors, one on the right and one on the left. 34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing. And dividing His garments, they were casting the lots.

35 The people stood looking: and the rulers were even mocking with themselves, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself, if He is the Christ, the elect of God. 36 And the soldiers were also mocking, coming and bringing the vinegar to Him, 37 and saying, If thou art the King of the Jews, save thyself.

38 And the superscription was also over Him: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 And one of the malefactors having been hung up, continued to blaspheme Him, saying, If thou art the Christ, save thyself and us.

40 But the other one responding, rebuked him saying, Do you not fear God, because you are in the same condemnation? 41 and we indeed justly; for we are receiving the deservings of the things we did: but this one has done nothing amiss. 42 And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou mayest come in thy kingdom.

43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say unto thee, This day shalt thou be with me in Paradise.

John 19:17-27

17 And He was bearing His cross. And He went out into a place called Calvary, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha. 18 They crucified Him there, and two others with Him, on this side and on that side, and Jesus in the midst. 19 And Pilate also wrote His title, and placed it upon the cross. And it was written, JESUS THE NAZARENE THE KING OF THE JEWS.

20 Then many of the Jews read this title: because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city: And it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Roman. 21 Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Write not, King of the Jews; but that He said, I am the King of the Jews.

22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

23 Then the soldiers, when they crucified Jesus, took His garments, and made them four parts, a part for each soldier; and the vesture. And the vesture was seamless, woven from the top throughout. 24 Then they said to one another, Let us not tear it, but let us gamble for it, whose it shall be. In order that the Scripture may be fulfilled, saying, They divided my garments among themselves, and upon my vesture they cast the lot. Then indeed the soldiers did these things.

25 And by the cross of Jesus stood His mother, and the sister of His mother, Mary the mother of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 Then Jesus seeing His mother, and the disciple whom He loved, standing by, said to His mother; Woman, behold, thy son. 27 Then He says to the disciple, Behold, thy mother. And from that hour that disciple received her into his own home.
