Matthew 14:22-33 - Jesus Walks On The Water

Matthew 14:22-33

22 And he immediately made his disciples get into the boat and cross before him to the other side while he dismissed the crowds. 23 After he had dismissed them he went up the hill by himself to pray. And when evening came on he was there alone, 24 but the boat was by this time a long way from shore, struggling with the waves, for the wind was against them. 25 Toward morning he went out to them, walking on the sea. 26 And the disciples saw him walking on the sea, and they were terrified and said, "It is a ghost!" And they screamed with fear.

27 But Jesus immediately spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid."

28 Peter answered, "If it is you, Master, order me to come to you on the water."

29 And he said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and went to Jesus. 30 But when he felt the wind he was frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Master, save me!"

31 Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and caught hold of him, and said to him, "Why did you waver? You have so little faith!" 32 When they got into the boat, the wind went down. 33 And the men in the boat fell down before him and said, "You are certainly God's Son!"

Mark 6:45-52

45 He immediately had his disciples get into the boat and cross before him to the other side toward Bethsaida, while he was dismissing the crowd. 46 When he had taken leave of the people he went up the hill to pray. 47 When evening came on, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on shore. 48 And he saw that they were straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, and toward morning he went out to them, walking on the sea, and was going to join them. 49 They saw him walking on the sea, and thought it was a ghost and screamed aloud, 50 for they all saw him and were terrified. But he immediately spoke to them and said, "Take courage, it is I. Do not be afraid." 51 Then he went up to them and got into the boat. And the wind fell. And they were perfectly beside themselves, 52 for they had not understood about the loaves, but their minds were blinded.

John 6:16-21

16 But in the evening his disciples went down to the sea 17 and got into a boat and started across the sea for Capernaum. By this time it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them; 18 a strong wind was blowing and the sea was growing rough. 19 When they had rowed three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and approaching the boat, and they were terrified.

20 But he said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid!" 21 Then as soon as they consented to take him into the boat, the boat was at the shore they had been trying to reach.
