Ephesians 2:1-10 - Made Alive In Christ

Ephesians 2:1-10

1 And as with us so with you. You were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you moved as you followed the course of this world, under the sway of the prince of the air ??the spirit which is at present active within those sons of disobedience 3 among whom all of us lived, we as well as you, when we obeyed the passions of our flesh, carrying out the dictates of the flesh and its impulses, when we were objects of God's anger by nature, like the rest of men. 4 But, dead in trespasses as we were, God was so rich in mercy that for his great love to us 5 he made us live together with Christ (it is by grace you have been saved); 6 together with Christ he raised and seated us within the heavenly sphere in Christ Jesus, 7 to display throughout ages to come his surpassing wealth of grace and goodness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, as you had faith; it is not your doing but God's gift, 9 not the outcome of what you have done ??lest anyone should pride himself on that; 10 God has made us what we are, creating us in Christ Jesus for the good deeds which are prepared beforehand by God as our sphere of action.

Colossians 2:6-15

6 Since you have had the messiah, even Jesus the Lord, brought to you, lead your life in him, 7 fixed and founded in him, confirmed in the faith as you have been taught it, and overflowing with thankfulness to God.

8 Beware of anyone getting hold of you by means of a theosophy which is specious make-believe, on the lines of human tradition, corresponding to the Elemental spirits of the world and not to Christ. 9 It is in Christ that the entire Fulness of deity has settled bodily, 10 it is in him that you reach your full life, and he is the Head of every angelic Ruler and Power; 11 in him you have been circumcised with no material circumcision that cuts flesh from the body, but with Christ's own circumcision, 12 when you were buried with him in your baptism and thereby raised with him as you believed in the power of the God who raised him from the dead. 13 For though you were dead in your trespasses, your flesh uncircumcised, He made you live with Christ, He forgave us all our trespasses, 14 He cancelled the regulations that stood against us ??all these obligations he set aside when he nailed them to the cross, 15 when he cut away the angelic Rulers and Powers from us, exposing them to all the world and triumphing over them in the cross.
