Timothy 1:6-14 - Paul's Advice For Timothy

for which cause I remind thee to stir up the gift of God which is in thee through the imposition of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but of vigor, and of love, and of prudence.

Be not therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but bear thy part in the afflictions of the gospel, according to the power of God;

who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose, and grace bestowed upon us through Christ Jesus, before the world was, 10 but now made manifest by the appearance of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light by the gospel: for which I was appointed an herald,

and an apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles: 12 for which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed: for I know in whom I have trusted, and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him against that day.

Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 14 The good thing committed to thee keep, through the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us.
