For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him might not perish, but have everlasting life:

For the gift is not as the sentence was by one that sinned; for the sentence is passed from one offence to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences to justification. For if, by the offence of one, death reigned through one, much more they who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life through one, even Jesus Christ.

For I would not have you, brethren, to be ignorant of this mystery, (least ye should be wise in your own eyes) that blindness in part is befallen Israel, till the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, "The deliverer shall come out of Sion, and shall turn away impiety from Jacob: and this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins."read more.
As to the gospel indeed they are enemies on your account, but as to the election they are beloved on account of the fathers. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye were heretofore disobedient to God, but have now obtained mercy in their disobedience: so these also in your mercy have now been disobedient, that they themselves might be the objects of mercy. For God hath included them all in the charge of disobedience, that He might have mercy upon all.

Ye husbands likewise, dwell with them according to knowledge, yielding due respect to the wife as the weaker vessel, and as joint-heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

But grace is given to each of us, according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore it is said, "When he ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."

Now concerning spiritual gifts, my brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, drawn aside after dumb idols, just as ye were led: wherefore, I must acquaint you, that no one speaking by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus a curse: and no one can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost.read more.
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit: and there are different offices, but the same Lord: and there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh them all in every one. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the advantage of all. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the same Spirit distributing to every one in particular as He sees fit.

For as in one body we have many members, and all the members have not the same office: so we who are many, are one body in Christ, and every one members of each other. But having different gifts, according to the grace conferred upon us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith:read more.

For God commanded saying, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He that revileth father or mother, let him be put to death: but ye say, If any man say to his father or mother, "that which thou mightest be profited by from me is a gift to the temple,"read more.
and so honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. And thus have ye made void the commandment of God by your tradition.

But thanks be to God, who put the same concern for you into the heart of Titus: for he not only complied with the exhortation, but being more forward he went to you of his own accord. And we have sent along with him the brother, whose praise in the gospel is spread through all the churches:read more.
(and not only so, but he was also chosen by the churches to accompany us with this grace, which is administered by us for the glory of the same Lord, and to shew your readiness of mind:) hereby taking care that no one might blame us in the disposal of this large sum which is administered by us: looking to things that are right not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
