Luke 23:5-16 - Pilate Sends Jesus To Herod
5 But they were the more urgent, saying, "He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout the whole of Judaea, and beginning from Galilee even to this place."
6 But Pilate, hearing it, asked if the Man were a Galilaean. 7 And, learning that He was of Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him up to Herod, who also was in Jerusalem in these days. 8 Now Herod, seeing Jesus, rejoiced exceedingly; for he was wishing for a long time to see Him, because he had heard concerning Him; and he was hoping to see some sign wrought by Him. 9 And he kept questioning Him in many words; but He answered him nothing. 10 And the high priests and the scribes stood, vehemently accusing Him. 11 And Herod with his soldiers, having set Him at naught, and having mocked Him, having thrown over Him a gorgeous robe, sent Him back to Pilate. 12 And Herod and Pilate became friends with each other on that day; for before they were at enmity between themselves.
13 And Pilate, calling together the high priests and the rulers and the people, 14 said to them, "Ye brought to me This Man as One perverting the people and, behold, I, having examined Him before you, found no fault in This Man regarding those things of which ye accuse Him; 15 no, nor yet Herod; for he sent Him hack to us; and, behold, nothing worthy of death has been done by Him. 16 Chastising Him, therefore, I will release Him"
