Matthew 24:15-28 - The Abomination Of Desolation

Matthew 24:15-28

15 "So when you see the destructive desecration, mentioned by the prophet Daniel, standing in the Holy Place" -- let the reader take notice -- 16 "then let those who remain in Judea fly to the hills; 17 let him who is on the roof of his house not come down to get his household goods out; 18 let him who is in the field not turn back to get his coat. 19 Alas for women who are expectant mothers and those who have nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray for your flight not to be in winter or on the Sabbath, 21 for there will be greater misery at that time than ever has been since the world began, or ever will be again. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, nobody would have escaped, but for the sake of God's chosen people those days will be cut short.

23 "If anyone at that time says to you, 'Here is the Christ!' or 'There He is!' do not believe it, 24 for false Christs and false prophets will announce themselves, and they will show great signs and wonders to mislead, if possible, God's chosen people. 25 Remember, I have told you beforehand. 26 So if they say to you, 'Here He is in the desert,' do not go out to see. Or 'Here He is in some secret place,' do not believe it. 27 For just as the lightning starts in the east and flashes clear to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will flock.

Mark 13:14-23

14 "So when you see the destructive desecration standing where he has no right to stand" -- let the reader take notice -- "then let those who remain in Judea fly to the hills; 15 let him who is on the roof of his house not go down and go into the house to get anything out of it; 16 let him who is in the field not turn back to get his coat. 17 Alas for the women who are expectant mothers and those who have nursing babies, in those days! 18 And pray that it may not be in winter, 19 for there will be such misery at that time as has never been since the beginning of God's creation, and never will be again. 20 If the Lord had not cut those days short, nobody would have escaped, but for the sake of the people chosen as His own He has cut them short.

21 "If anyone says to you at that time, 'Look! Here is the Christ,' or, 'Look! There He is,' do not believe it. 22 For false Christs and false prophets will announce themselves, and they will do signs and wonders to mislead, if possible, even God's chosen people. 23 So you must be on your guard. I have warned you about it all beforehand.
