Matthew 21:12-17 - The Cleansing Of The Temple
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove out all that were selling and buying in the court of the temple, and threw down the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves: 13 and said to them, It is written, "My house shall be called the house of prayer," but ye have made it a den of thieves.
14 And there came to Him in the temple both blind and lame, and He healed them: 15 but when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonders that He wrought, and the children crying out in the temple, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were vexed to the heart, and said to Him, Dost thou hear what these say? 16 And Jesus saith unto them, Yes, have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast procured praise?
17 And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there.
15 Then they came to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to turn out those that sold and bought in the court of the temple, and threw down the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves: 16 and suffered not any one to carry a burthen through the courts of the temple.
17 And He taught them, saying, Is it not written, my house shall be called an house of prayer for all nations? But ye have made it a den of thieves. 18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how to destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were struck with his doctrine.
19 And when it was evening, He went out of the city.
45 And He went into the temple, and cast out those that were buying and selling in it, 46 saying unto them, It is written, "my house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves."
47 And He was teaching daily in the temple: but the chief priests and the scribes and the rulers of the people sought to destroy Him; 48 and could not find how to effect it: for all the people were attentive to hear Him.
14 and sheep, and doves, and the money changers sitting: 15 and having made a whip of small cords He drove them all, out of the temple; with the sheep and the oxen: and He poured out the changers money, and threw down the tables. 16 And said to them that sold doves, Take away these things from hence, and make not my Father's house an house of traffick.
17 And his disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
18 The Jews therefore answered and said unto Him, What sign dost thou shew us, seeing thou dost these things?
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again: then said the Jews,
20 Forty and six years has this temple been in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? but He spake of the temple of his body.
21 Therefore when he was risen from the dead, 22 his disciples remembered, that He had said this to them: and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
