Matthew 18:10-14 - The Parable Of The Lost Sheep

Matthew 18:10-14

10 Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, That their angels in heaven do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man has come to save that which is lost. 12 What think you? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them go astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, and go into the mountains, and seek for that which has gone astray? 13 And if it so be that he find it, verily I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14 Even so, it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should be lost.

Luke 15:1-7

1 And all the publicans and the sinners came near to him to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying: This man receives sinners, and eats with them.

3 And he spoke this parable to them, saying: 4 What man of you that has a hundred sheep, and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the desert, and go after that which is lost, till he find it? 5 And when he finds it, he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, and says to them., Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost. 7 I say to you, That thus there shall be joy in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety-nine just persons, who need no repentance.
