And he spoke this parable to some, who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and who despised others. Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. Let not him that eats, despise him that eats not; and let not him that eats not, judge him that eats: for God has received him.

Not a new convert, lest, having become conceited, he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Charge those who are rich in this age, that they be not proud, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us all things richly for our enjoyment,

And James and John the sons of Zebedee came to him, and said: Teacher, we desire you to do for us whatever we shall ask. He said to them: "What do you wish me to do for you? They said to him: Grant to us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left, in thy glory.read more.

But Jesus called them to him, and said to them: You know that those who think they rule the Gentiles, act as lords over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever desires to be great among you, shall be your minister; and whoever among you desires to be first, shall be servant of all. For the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Therefore, when he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, he reclined at table again, and said to them: Do you understand what I have done for you? You call me Teacher and Lord; and you say well, for so I am. If, then, I, your Lord and your Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.read more.
For I have given you an example, that you also may do as I have done for you. Verily, verily I say to you, the servant is not greater than his master, nor is he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you, if you do them.
