Mark 3:13-19 - The Selection Of The Twelve Apostles

Mark 3:13-19

13 Then he went up the hillside and called to him those whom he chose, and they came to him. 14 Twelve of them whom he also called "Apostles," he appointed to be with him, and also that he might send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to cast out demons.

16 There was Simon, whom he surnamed Peter, 17 and James(them he surnamed Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder), 18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Zealot, 19 and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.

Luke 6:12-16

12 It happened about that time that he went out into the mountain to pray. He continued all night in prayer to God. 13 And when day dawned he called his disciples, and from among them he selected twelve, whom also he called Apostles missionaries.

14 They were Simon, whom he had also called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; 15 Philip and Bartholomew; Mathew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon called the Zealot; 16 Jude the son of James, and Judas Iscariot who was the traitor.
