Matthew 16:1-4 - The Signs Of The Times

¹ Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came to him, and in order to test him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

² In answer he said: "In the evening you say, 'It will be fine weather, for the sky is red as fire'; ³ and at dawn you say, 'It will storm today, for the sky is red and lowering.' You know how to discern the look of the sky, but the signs of the times you cannot read. ⁴ A wicked and faithless generation is seeking a sign, but no sign shall be given it but the sign of Jonah." So he left them and went away.

⁵⁴ Then he said to the crowd also. "When you see a cloud rising in the west you at once say, 'There is going to be a shower,' and it comes to pass. ⁵⁵ "And when you feel the south winds blowing you say, 'There will be a hot wind,' and it comes to pass. ⁵⁶ "Hypocrites! you know how to read the face of the earth and of the sky; but how is it that you do not know how to read the signs of the present time?
