Matthew 16:1-4 - The Signs Of The Times

¹ And the Pharisees and Sadducees, coming near, tempting Him, asked Him to show them a sign from the heaven;

² and He, answering, said to them, "When it is evening, ye say, 'It will be fair, for the heaven is red;' ³ and in the morning, 'Today, a tempest; for red is the overcast heaven.' The face of the heaven, indeed, ye know how to discern, but the signs of the times ye can not discern. ⁴ An evil and adulterous generation is seeking after a sign; and no sign will be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet." And, leaving them, He departed.

⁵⁴ And He said to the multitudes also, "When ye see a cloud rising in the west, straightway ye say 'A shower is coming!' and so it happens. ⁵⁵ And, when ye see a south wind blowing, ye say, 'There will be scorching heat!' and it comes to pass. ⁵⁶ Hypocrites! Ye know how to interpret the face of the earth and of the heavens but how is it ye know not how to interpret this time?
