Matthew 15:32-39 - The Feeding Of Four Thousand

³² And Jesus, having called His disciples near, said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with Me now three days, and have nothing to eat; and I am not willing to send them away fasting, lest haply they faint in the way."

³³ And His disciples say to Him, "Whence should we, in a wilderness, have so many loaves as to satisfy so great a multitude?"

³⁴ And Jesus saith to them, "How many loaves have ye?" And they said, "Seven, and a few little fishes."

³⁵ And, having commanded the multitude to recline on the ground, ³⁶ He took the seven loaves and the fishes; giving thanks, He broke, and was giving to the disciples; and the disciples to the multitudes. ³⁷ And they all ate, and were satisfied; and they took up what was over of the pieces seven baskets full; ³⁸ and those eating were four thousand men, besides women and children. ³⁹ And, dismissing the multitudes, He went up into the boat, and came into the borders of Magadan.

¹ In those days, when there was again a great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, He called to Him His disciples and saith to them, ² "I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with Me now three days, and have nothing to eat; ³ and, if I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint in the way; and some of them are from afar."

⁴ And His disciples answered Him, "Whence will any one be able to satisfy these men with bread, here in a desert place?"

⁵ And He asked them, "how many loaves have ye?" And they said, "Seven." ⁶ And He commandeth the multitude to sit down on the ground; and, taking the seven loaves, having given thanks, He broke, and was giving to the disciples, to set before them; and they set them before the multitude. ⁷ And they had a few small fishes; and, having blessed them, He commanded to set these also before them. ⁸ And they ate, and were satisfied; and they took up, of the pieces that remained over, seven baskets. ⁹ And they were about four thousand; and He sent them away. ¹⁰ And straightway, entering into the boat with His disciples, He came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
