Ahi'ah, or Ahi'jah
(friend of Jehovah).
1. Son of Ahitub, grandson of Phinehas and great-grandson of Eli, succeeded his father as high priest in the reign of Saul.
Ahiah is probably the same person as Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. (B.C. 980.)
2. One of Solomon's princes.
3. A prophet of Shiloh,
hence called the Shilonite,
of whom we have two remarkable prophecies extant, the one in
addressed to Jeroboam, announcing the rending of the ten tribes from Solomon; the other in
in which he foretold the death of Abijah, the king's son, who was sick, and the destruction of Jeroboam's house on account of the images which he had set up.

And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, Jehovah's priest in Shiloh, was wearing an ephod. And the people did not know that Jonathan was gone.

And if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as David My servant did, it shall happen that I will be with you and build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you. And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who sinned, and that he made Israel to sin.
And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him. And Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which was to the Philistines. For Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years.
And the sons of Jerahmeel the first-born of Hezron: Ram the first-born, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.
And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of the house of God and over the treasures of the dedicated things.
