(1.) Ten curtains, each twenty-eight cubits long and four wide, made of fine linen, also eleven made of goat's hair, covered the tabernacle (Ex 26:1-13; 36:8-17).
(2.) The sacred curtain, separating the holy of holies from the sanctuary, is designated by a different Hebrew word (peroketh). It is described as a "veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work" (Ex 26:31; Le 16:2; Nu 18:7).
(3.) "Stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain" (Isa 40:22), is an expression used with reference to the veil or awning which Orientals spread for a screen over their courts in summer. According to the prophet, the heavens are spread over our heads as such an awning. Similar expressions are found in Ps 104:2; comp. Isa 44:24; Job 9:8.

And you will make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain at the end of the [first] set and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain [in] the second set. And you will make fifty bronze clasps, and you will put the clasps in the loops and join the tent, so that it will be one. "And the surplus in the curtains of the tent [will be] an overhang; the surplus half curtain will hang over the back of the tabernacle. And a cubit {from one side} and a cubit {from the other side} in the surplus in the length of the curtains of the tent will be hung over the sides of the tabernacle {equally} to cover it.

And Yahweh said to Moses, "Tell your brother Aaron [that] he should not enter at any time into the sanctuary {behind} the curtain {in front of} the atonement cover that [is] on the ark, so that he might not die, because I appear in the cloud over the atonement cover.
But you with your sons will keep your priesthood to perform your priestly duties for everything at the altar and for {the area behind the curtain}. I give you the priesthood as a gift, but the stranger who approaches will be put to death."
