[When] we come to the land, you must tie this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and you must gather your father and mother, and your brothers, and your whole family to your house.
And she said, "According to your word it [will be]." Then she sent them away, and they went, and she tied the scarlet cord in the window.

Therefore, thus says Yahweh: "I have returned to Jerusalem with compassion. My temple will be built in it," {declares} Yahweh of hosts, "and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem." '
And I {looked up} and I saw, and look, a man, and in his hand [was] a measuring rope!
But I say, they have not heard, have they? On the contrary, "Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the inhabited world."
For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but [the one] whom the Lord commends.
