This is a Greek word, though sometimes used by English writers. It is translated 'Comforter,' referring to the Holy Spirit, in Joh 14:16,26; 15:26; 16:7; and 'Advocate,' referring to the Lord Jesus, in 1Jo 2:1. See ADVOCATE.
