And Moses' hands were heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat upon it; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side and the other on the other side; thus his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua disabled Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in the book and tell Joshua that I must utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar and called the name of it The LORD is my Banner, for he said, Because Amalek lifted his hand against the throne of the LORD, the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

And they rose up early in the morning and climbed up into the top of the mountain, saying, Here we are prepared to go up unto the place of which the LORD has spoken; for we have sinned. Then the Amalekite came down and the Canaanite who dwelt in that hill and smote them and defeated them, pursuing them unto Hormah.

And when King Arad, the Canaanite, who dwelt toward the Negev, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the sentinels; then he fought against Israel and took some of them prisoners. And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan; and Og, the king of Bashan, went out against them, he and all his people, to the battle at Edrei. Then the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not, for I have delivered him into thy hand and all his people and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon. read more. So they smote him and his sons and all his people until there was none left him alive; and they possessed his land.
