And he that came out first was red and rough over all, as it were a hide: and they called his name Esau.

and said to Jacob, "Let me sip of that red pottage, for I am fainty." And therefore was his name called Edom.

Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of red rice. And he ate and drank and rose up and went his way. And so Esau regarded not his birthright.

And as she travailed, the one put out his hand and the midwife took and bound a red thread about it, saying, "This will come out first."

And afterward came out his brother that had the red thread about his hand, which was called Zerah.
