Both were righteous in God’s sight, living without blame according to all the commands and requirements of the Lord.

And, behold, a certain woman in the city, who was a notorious offender, when she knew that Jesus was sitting at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster vessel of odoriferous balm,

and standing at his feet behind him, began to water his feet with her tears, and to wipe them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the perfumed balm.

My head with oil thou hast not anointed; but she hath anointed my feet with odoriferous balm.

Some of the scribes replied, “Teacher, you have spoken well [so that there is no room for blame].”

And, Pilate, said unto the High-priests and the multitudes, Nothing, find I, worthy of blame, in this man.

said unto them - Ye brought unto me this man, as one turning away the people, and lo! I, in your presence, examining him, found, nothing, in this man worthy of blame, in respect of the things whereof ye were making accusation against him.
