The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east facing gate of the LORD's Temple. At the entrance of the gate I saw 25 men. Included among them were Azzur's son Jaazaniah and Benaiah's son Pelatiah, who were princes of the people.

Its windows, porches, and palm tree ornaments had measurements identical to the east-facing gate. Reached by seven ascending steps, its porch lay to the front of the steps.

Then he brought me into the inner east-facing courtyard, where he measured the gate, identical to the others.

The front of the Temple and its east-facing courtyard were each 100 cubits long.

In the thickness of the wall of the court toward the east facing the secluded place and facing the enclosing wall, were chambers. n

After he had finished measuring the inner temple, he brought me out through the east-facing gate and measured it all around.

Next, he brought me to the east-facing gate,

while the glory of the LORD entered the Temple through the east-facing gate.

Then the Lord GOD brought me back through the east-facing outer gate of the sanctuary. But it was shut.

"This is what the Lord GOD says: "The inner, east-facing courtyard is to remain shut during the six working days of the week, but on the Sabbath day it is to be opened, as well as on the day of the New Moon.

Whenever the Regent Prince presents a voluntary offering, burnt offering, or peace offering, he is to present it voluntarily to the LORD, and the east-facing gate is to be opened for him. He is to provide his burnt offering and peace offering as he does on the Sabbath. When he leaves, the gate is to be shut behind him.

And to the prince - on his side and on that, shall belong a portion of the heave-offering of the holy portion and of the possession of the city, facing the heave-offering of the holy portion and facing the possession of the city, on the west side westward and on the east side eastward, - and in length, answering to one of the portions, from the west boundary to the east boundary,

And the residue shall be for the prince, on this side and on that side of the holy offering and of the possession of the city, facing the five and twenty thousand of the offering, as far as the east boundary, and westward, facing the five and twenty thousand by the west boundary, answering to the portions for the prince,- thus shall it be the holy offering, with the sanctuary of the house in the midst thereof.

Corresponding to the chamber doorways facing the south was an opening at the beginning of the passage; that is, the passage in front of the corresponding part of the wall facing east as one might enter.

And outside the inner gate were the chambers for the singers in the inner court, one at the side of the north gate; facing toward the south: one at the side of the east gate facing toward the north.

And he took me back to the door of the house; and I saw that waters were flowing out from under the doorstep of the house on the east, for the house was facing east: and the waters came down from under, from the right side of the house, on the south side of the altar.

Then he brought me to the inner court of the Lord's house. Right there at the entrance to the Lord's temple, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the Lord's temple, facing east -- they were worshiping the sun toward the east!

And the ledge [was] {fourteen} [cubits] in length with {fourteen} [cubits] [its] width to [all] four of its sides, and a rim [was] all around it of one-half cubit. And the gutter for it [was] a cubit all around, and its steps [were] facing east."

And he brought me out [by the way] of [the] north gate and he led me around [by the] {way leading to the outside of the outer gate} [by] way of the [gate] facing east, and look, there was water trickling from the south side.

The inner court had a gate facing the north gate, like the one on the east. He measured the distance from gate to gate; it was 175 feet.

Gate guardhouses stood facing east, numbering three on each side, each of them of equal size to the door jamb; that is, having the same measurement on each side.

Then he went to the gate facing east. He climbed its steps and measured the threshold of the gate as 10? feet deep.
