to the church of God which is at Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, to the called saints, with all those who invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both their's and our's:

Wherefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;

whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all things are your's;

We are [regarded as] fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are highly esteemed, but we are dishonored.

when they slander us, we try to conciliate them. We have come to be like the scum of the earth, the dregs of the world, and we are so now.

But come to you I will, and that soon, if it please the Lord; and then I shall find out, not what words these men use who are so puffed up, but what power they possess;

For even if after all [there] are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, just as [there] are many gods and many lords,

But not everyone has this knowledge. Some people are so accustomed to idolatry that when they eat food that has been offered to an idol, their conscience becomes contaminated because it is weak.

Yes, the overscrupulous brother, for whom Christ died, is ruined by your so-called knowledge.

If it so happens that there are so many kinds of voices in the world, and nothing without a voice;

So it is with you, since you are so very eager to have spiritual gifts and manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in ways that will build up the church [spiritually].
