And Jabez was nobler than his brethren. And his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bare him with sorrow." But Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "If thou shalt bless me, and enlarge my coasts, and shalt let thine hand be with me, and wilt keep me from evil that it vex me not." And God sent him his desire.
