Take heed not to do your alms before men to be seen of them, otherwise ye have no reward with your Father who is in the heavens. When therefore thou doest alms, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. But this is true, he that sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that sows in the spirit of blessing shall reap also in blessing: each according as he is purposed in his heart; not grievingly, or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.


But now also complete the doing of it; so that as there was the readiness to be willing, so also to complete out of what ye have. For if the readiness be there, a man is accepted according to what he may have, not according to what he has not.

but on the principle of equality; in the present time your abundance for their lack, that their abundance may be for your lack, so that there should be equality.
