Now there came to Ephesus a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures.

Now it came to pass while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul having passed through the upper parts of Asia came to Ephesus:

For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal?

I much importuned him to come to you with the brethren: but he was not at all willing to come now; though he will come when he has a favorable opportunity.

Forward Zenas the lawyer, and Apollos, on their journey carefully, that nothing may be wanting to them.

For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by some of Chloe's family, that there are contentions among you. I mean, that each of you saith, as if of different parties, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, I of Cephas, and I of Christ.

For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whose means ye embraced the faith, even as the Lord gave success to each of them? I have planted, Apollos watered: but God gave the increase.

Now there came to Ephesus a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures. Who had been instructed in the way of our Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spake and taught clearly the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John. And as he began to speak openly in the synagogue, Aquila and Priscilla heard him and took him home, and expounded to him the way of God more perfectly. read more.
And as he was inclined to go into Achaia, the brethren wrote to the disciples exhorting them to receive him: who when he arrived, was very helpful to those who had believed through grace. For he disputed vehemently with the Jews in public, proving by the scriptures, that Jesus was the Christ.

For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whose means ye embraced the faith, even as the Lord gave success to each of them? I have planted, Apollos watered: but God gave the increase. read more.
So that neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase.

Because ye are still carnal: for while there is among you envy and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk as men? For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whose means ye embraced the faith, even as the Lord gave success to each of them? read more.
I have planted, Apollos watered: but God gave the increase. So that neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase. And he that planteth, and he that watereth, are as one: but each shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are fellow-laborers, the servants of God: and ye are the husbandry of God, ye are the building of God.

For sin taking occasion by the commandment deceived me, and by it slew me. So that the law is holy; and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid! But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good: that sin might be shewn by the commandment to be exceeding sinful. read more.
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

And I, my brethren, could not speak to you, as to spiritual persons, but as to carnal ones, even as to babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat; for ye were not hitherto able to bear it, nor yet are ye even now able. Because ye are still carnal: for while there is among you envy and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk as men? read more.
For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal?

For I am afraid least when I come, I should not find you such as I could wish, and I should be found to you such as ye would not: least there should be contentions, emulations, animosities, strifes, thwartings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: and least, when I come again, my God should humble me among you, and I should be grieved for many of those who have sinned heretofore, and have not repented of the impurity, and fornication, and lewdness which they have practised.

For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by some of Chloe's family, that there are contentions among you. I mean, that each of you saith, as if of different parties, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, I of Cephas, and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul?

Because ye are still carnal: for while there is among you envy and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk as men? For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal?

For first when ye come together in the church, I hear there are divisions among you, and I partly believe it. For there must be even heresies among you, that they who are approved may be made manifest among you.

For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal?

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye would all say alike, and that there may be no schisms among you, but that ye be perfectly united in the same mind and in the same judgement. For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by some of Chloe's family, that there are contentions among you. I mean, that each of you saith, as if of different parties, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, I of Cephas, and I of Christ. read more.

I have planted, Apollos watered: but God gave the increase. So that neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase. For we are fellow-laborers, the servants of God: and ye are the husbandry of God, ye are the building of God.

But whilst I am declaring this, I do not commend you, that ye assemble together not for the better, but for the worse. For first when ye come together in the church, I hear there are divisions among you, and I partly believe it. For there must be even heresies among you, that they who are approved may be made manifest among you. read more.
When therefore ye thus assemble together, this is not eating the Lord's supper: for in eating every one takes his own supper first; and one is hungry, and another is glutted.
