discretion shall preserve thee, intelligence shall keep thee to deliver thee from the evil way, from the man that speaks perversion, who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, read more.
who rejoice to do evil and delight in wicked perversion, whose ways are crooked, and they are crooked in their paths;

They are among those that rebel against the light; they have never known its ways nor abided in its paths. The murderer rises with the light, kills the poor and the needy, and in the night is as a thief. The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me; and disguises his face. read more.
In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime; they do not know the light.

The wise man has his eyes in his head, but the fool walks in darkness: And I myself also understood that one event happens to the one and to the other.

He that says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness and does not know where he goes, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness and does not know where he goes, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. I write unto you, little children, that your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.

We know that we are passed from death unto life, in that we love the brethren. He that does not love his brother abides in death. Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

We know that we are passed from death unto life, in that we love the brethren. He that does not love his brother abides in death. Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. In this we have known the charity of God because he laid down his life for us; we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. read more.
But whosoever has this world's goods and sees his brother have need and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how does the charity of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. Anyone that loves is born of God and knows God. He that does not love does not know God, for God is charity. In this was the charity of God demonstrated in us, in that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. read more.
In this does the charity consist, not because we had loved God, but because he loved us and has sent his Son to be the reconciliation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which is the truth in him and in you, because the darkness is past, and the true light now shines. He that says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. read more.

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world.

Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity; I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.

Pe The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue brings forth judgment. The law of his God is in his heart; therefore none of his steps shall slide.

Simon Peter, slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those that have obtained like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus, as all things that pertain to life and to godliness are given us of his divine power, through the knowledge of him that has called us by his glory and virtue, read more.
whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these ye might be made participants of the divine nature, having fled the corruption that is in the world through lust. Ye also, giving all diligence to the same, show forth virtue in your faith; and in virtue, knowledge; and in knowledge, temperance; and in temperance, patience; and in patience, fear of God; and in fear of God, brotherly love; and in brotherly love, charity. For if these things are in you and abound, they shall not let you be idle nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacks these things is blind and walks feeling the way with his hand, having forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, give all the more diligence to make your calling and election sure; for doing these things, ye shall never fall.
