Jesus answered, "Is not the day twelve hours long? If a man travels by day he will not stumble, for he can see the light of this world; but if he travels at night he will stumble because he has no light."

Jesus said to them, "You will have the light only a little while longer. Go on while you still have the light, so that darkness may not overtake you, for those who go about in the dark do not know where they are going. While you have the light believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." With these words Jesus went away, and disappeared from them.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love is still in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer can have eternal life remain in his heart.
