But the one who does wrong without knowing it will be lightly punished. Much will be demanded from anyone to whom much has been given; yea, people will demand much more from anyone to whom they have entrusted much.
And if any place refuses to welcome you or to listen to you, when you leave there shake off the very dust from the soles of your feet as a warning to them."
"If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. But now the fact is, they have no excuse for their sin.
And the ground for the sentence is this, that the light has come into the world, and yet, because their actions were evil, men have loved darkness more than the light.
Moreover, I tell you, on the day of judgment the punishment will be lighter for Tyre and Sidon than for you!
Jesus answered them, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty, but now you keep on claiming, 'We can see'; so your sin remains."
All who sin without having the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
